    Warm attentive care for elderly

My mom moved here for rehab and longer-term care and I'm very pleased. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring-skilled nursing, spot-on therapy (including prosthetic training), great meals and activities keep her active at 98. The facility is clean and well-run, they keep family informed, and I have real peace of mind; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Wellspring Lutheran Services Fairview Campus are overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing strong clinical outcomes, compassionate staff, and a clean, well-managed facility. Multiple reviewers praise the quality of rehabilitation and skilled nursing care — describing therapy as "spot on," and noting that patients were often ready to return home quickly (one reviewer mentioned being ready within ten days). The presence of in-patient rehabilitation, long-term stays, and respite options is highlighted, suggesting the campus supports a range of needs and transitions.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers consistently highlight the staff as a major strength. Descriptions include "compassionate," "attentive," "warm," and "helpful," with caregivers and nurses providing both clinical competence and emotional support. Families report that staff keep them well informed, offer clear explanations, and take an interest in residents' personal histories and interests. Several comments indicate staff can manage challenging residents effectively (one reviewer noted staff handled a difficult family member well), and others describe the atmosphere as providing relief and peace of mind. Phrases like "smiling faces," "heartfelt care," and "little slice of heaven" underscore the strong interpersonal environment.

Facilities and operations: Reviewers describe the physical environment as extremely clean with no odor, an important positive for healthcare settings. Operationally, the campus is called "well-run" with "structured operations," reflecting consistent, organized care delivery. The only recurring aesthetic critique is that the facility can appear "stark" or austere in appearance; this is presented as a visual or stylistic shortcoming rather than a concern about cleanliness or safety.

Dining and activities: Dining and dietary support receive frequent praise — reviewers use terms like "amazing meals" and "dietary support," indicating nourishment is both palatable and managed attentively. Activities programming also receives positive mention; staff keep residents engaged and busy, which is especially notable in cases such as a very active 98-year-old resident who was kept engaged and well cared for. These social and recreational aspects contribute to overall satisfaction and quality of life for residents.

Outcomes and recommendations: Many reviewers explicitly recommend Fairview Campus, with one calling it 5-star and others stating they would "highly recommend" the facility. Positive outcomes from rehab stays, combined with thoughtful family communication and attentive nursing, create a pattern of strong clinical results and family trust. The consistent praise across therapy effectiveness, cleanliness, meals, and staff demeanor points to a facility that performs well both clinically and operationally.

Notable patterns and caveats: The dominant themes are clinical competence, compassionate staffing, cleanliness, and effective communication. The only notable negative is the facility's somewhat "stark" appearance; otherwise reviewers report very few criticisms. Based on these summaries, prospective residents and families can expect professional rehabilitation and nursing care, attentive and personable staff, good dining and activities, and a clean environment — with the main trade-off being that the facility may feel more clinical or austere in decor than homelike in appearance.

About Wellspring Lutheran Services Fairview Campus

Wellspring Lutheran Services Fairview Campus offers a mix of independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation, so people can find the right help as their needs change, and they use their own special names for programs and features, which sometimes makes it easier to know what to expect, and what you'll get. The campus keeps things comfortable enough, with maintenance-free duplexes, attached garages, kitchens with appliances, private decks, and modern amenities like cable TV, WiFi, and telephone service, and you'll never have to shovel snow or mow since they take care of the lawn and provide 24-hour emergency service, plus community garden space, walking paths, and gardens for those who enjoy being outside. You'll see private and semi-private rooms available, well-furnished, and there are daily activities, a library, recreation rooms, billiard room, a hair salon, and plenty of common areas, lobby spaces, and a bright atrium where folks gather or run their own events, which helps people stay connected and busy.

Meals come prepared every day and can be tailored to special diets, and the restaurant-style dining setup makes it feel more relaxed, and residents also get help with bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication management, all with 24-hour supervision and healthcare staff that includes nurses, therapists, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, and more. Wellspring Lutheran Services Fairview Campus has its own programs for grief support like Camp Hope, counseling and behavioral health services, and educational opportunities, and there's spiritual care and scheduled transportation, so getting to appointments or joining in community-sponsored or resident-led activities comes easy enough. Independent living means folks can stay in their own space, and with assisted living or memory care, staff step in when needed but still focus on giving people as much freedom as possible.

There's a continuum of care, covering rehab after hospital stays, skilled nursing through Covenant Skilled Nursing & Rehab at Wellspring, respite care if families need a short break, and even hospice for end-of-life support, and everyone can age in place, adjusting services as health changes. Specialized therapies like occupational, physical, speech, and recreational therapies help keep people active, while support for mental wellness addresses the whole person, and call systems are in every room for safety. AuSable Valley Community Apartments, just for those aged 62 and older, provide affordable, safe living, putting folks close to town, healthcare, and parks, with two-bedroom apartments, private decks, and easy access to all the Fairview Campus services. Family and resident councils have a say in how things work, and the whole facility is non-profit, accepting Medicare and Medicaid, which helps families who need financial opportunities. Awards for top inspections and quality ratings back up the work being done, but it's the steady services, the friendly environment, and the focus on compassionate, reliable care that shapes daily life here. The campus belongs to a larger Wellspring network, which also serves families through adoption, foster care, supportive housing, and behavioral health, so there's a sense you're part of something bigger than the one location in Fairview.
