    Warm, caring staff and community

I placed my mom here and I'm very grateful - the staff are consistently caring, kind, and welcoming, and management is attentive and proactive with medical updates and meds. The facility is clean, beautifully decorated, and family-oriented, with plenty of activities (crafts, family nights, holiday parties) and reliable meal service. Overall a warm, well-run community I would happily recommend and consider again.

    Summary of reviews

Blueberry Hill Assisted Living receives consistent positive feedback for day-to-day caregiving, interpersonal warmth, and community programming. Many families describe staff as caring, attentive, and able to calm anxious moments; reviewers highlight proactive medical updates to families, reliable medication administration, and staff who engage residents socially. The facility’s atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming and family-oriented, with staff facilitating inclusive environments and resident participation.

Activity programming and community events are a clear strength. Reviewers note robust, varied activities, family nights, holiday parties, and opportunities for residents to lead or teach classes. These offerings appear to support social engagement and contribute to a lively, participatory culture. The admissions experience is also cited positively: tours are described as informative and welcoming, and staff make an effort to involve families.

Facility-level features receive generally favorable comments. Multiple reviews highlight cleanliness, well-decorated common areas, and routine maintenance. Dining logistics are structured (three meals plus an evening snack), and some families praise healthy options and a clean dining area. However, food quality is not uniformly praised — there are instances of dissatisfaction with meal taste and with beverage quality — so menu and taste preferences may vary by resident.

There are a few operational caveats for prospective residents and families to consider. One reviewer raised serious concerns about leadership conduct, including confidentiality and professionalism; this should prompt visitors to inquire directly about management policies, staff training, and grievance or privacy procedures during a tour. Dining quality and beverage taste were inconsistent across accounts; asking to sample meals and reviewing current menus is advisable. Room offerings appear generally adequate for many residents but may lack larger-suite options for those who need more space or specific accommodations.

In summary, Blueberry Hill projects a strengths-based profile around interpersonal care, activity programming, and a maintained, home-like environment. Prospective residents should weigh those strengths against isolated but potentially significant leadership and dining concerns by requesting a tour, a meal sample, clarification on medication and privacy protocols, and details on room-size availability to determine fit for their specific needs.

    About Blueberry Hill Assisted Living

Blueberry Hill Assisted Living sits at 99 Walker Street in Lawton, Michigan, in a quiet, natural setting that a lot of people say is good for walks and enjoying the outdoors, and you'll often see folks relaxing in the nicely landscaped gardens or spending time in the comfortable courtyards, and people really do enjoy the company of resident cats and dogs wandering around, which helps the place feel friendly and home-like. The community has space for up to 66 residents and offers both assisted and independent living, with care designed to support older adults' independence while still giving help when needed, whether that's with bathing, dressing, or medication, and the staff really do focus on keeping everybody comfortable and cared for, with personal plans made for each person. Hawthorn Hall is their memory care section for people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and caregivers have training for extra support in that part of the community.

You'll find a full-time activity director who plans everything from fitness classes and art groups to local outings and trips so residents stay active and social, and there's also a well-stocked library, lots of lounge areas with soft chairs and nice lighting, and a steady lineup of daily activities, which can get pretty lively with games, socials, and holiday events. Everybody can use the on-site beauty salon, and there are special services like laundry, housekeeping, and transportation set up so life stays simple and clean. Meals are made by chefs three times a day and cater to different diets and health needs, so everyone has something that fits them. Their wellness programs aim to support physical, mental, and social health, and they pay a lot of attention to keeping everyone safe and happy, whether it's with medication management or making sure the meals are nutritious.

Rooms get satellite TV with lots of channels and free Wi-Fi, so people can keep up with shows, news, and family online without any extra trouble. The building's set up with handicap accessible features, making it easier for everyone to get around, and people can count on support if they need extra help with daily living.

Blueberry Hill Assisted Living is a licensed home for the aged under license AH800398973, with a license that's good through July 2026, and it has recent inspection and investigation reports available. There's a board of directors, an Assisted Living Committee, and a Certified Assisted Living Director program in place to make sure things are run responsibly, and they give special attention to rules for both homes for aging and adult foster care, which keeps the place up to par with what's needed in Van Buren County. Staff seem known for being helpful, cheerful, and consistent in making residents feel welcome, and the whole environment's set up so people don't just keep their independence but actually enjoy each day, either with friends, pets, or a good book by the fire.
