    Immaculate home-like facility; caring staff

I'm so relieved we found this small, immaculate, home-like facility run by two nurse owners. The caring, friendly staff go above and beyond-helping with mail/laundry, serving good meals, and running fun afternoon activities (1-3)-and my mom is noticeably happier. Cozy room with a corner bathroom and a closed-in back deck, and they even accept the Medicaid waiver.

    Summary of reviews

Country Living Senior Care of Pewamo is described as a small, home-like facility with nurse ownership and a staff that multiple families found caring and accommodating. Positive remarks emphasize a clean, well-kept interior, private rooms with bathrooms, an enclosed deck area, and hands-on assistance with routine needs such as mail and laundry. The home offers structured afternoon programming (noted as 1–3 PM) and accepts Medicaid waiver, which may be relevant for families managing costs.

Care quality impressions are mixed. Several families praised the personalized, compassionate attention residents received and described staff going beyond basic expectations to support residents. However, other accounts raised operational concerns that affect perceived clinical reliability. These include inconsistencies in staff experience and training, lapses in supervision at times, and instances suggesting gaps in medication administration or documentation. There are also mentions of infection-control issues, specifically urinary tract infections among residents, which prospective families may want to investigate further.

Staffing and management appear to be a central contrast: ownership by nurses and a generally professional front-line team are strengths, yet reviewers indicate uneven training and communication between shifts. Notable themes include weak handoffs, failures in timely family notification about clinical changes, and limited overnight clinical oversight. These patterns can amplify the impact of isolated clinical events; families seeking placement should ask about staff training programs, supervision structures, and overnight coverage.

Dining receives little specific commentary in the available summaries; therefore, there is insufficient information to assess meal quality or dietary management. The facility does appear to provide daily living supports (laundry, mail assistance) and a small activities program in the afternoons. Prospective families should request sample menus, staffing levels for meals, and special-diet accommodations during a visit.

Facilities and environment are consistently noted as strengths: reviewers describe the home as clean, well-maintained, and intimate in scale. Private rooms with nearby bathrooms and a closed-in deck were identified as positive physical features that contribute to a homelike atmosphere.

Overall, the pattern in the reviews is polarized. Many families express strong satisfaction with the compassion and attentiveness of caregivers and the homelike setting. At the same time, serious operational concerns are present around clinical communication, medication processes, overnight oversight, and infection-control practices. Prospective residents and families should balance the facility’s strengths against these operational risks by touring the home, asking for details about staff training and turnover, reviewing medication and notification policies, clarifying overnight clinical coverage, and requesting references from current residents’ families before making a placement decision.

About Country Living Senior Care of Pewamo

Country Living Senior Care of Pewamo stands as a group home for seniors, and the place takes on adult family home settings, with small and medium home capacities serving between one and twelve residents, so it feels more like a home than a big facility with crowds and noise. The care providers focus on senior care and offer help tailored to each resident's needs, so folks who stay here get help with daily activities, personal care, and medication management, and they get their meals provided too. The place has certain programs and features with unique names, though there's no further information on what those names are, and there aren't specifics shared about all amenities or terms used for services, but the facility does say amenities and services are designed for comfort and senior well-being. The staff here provide support for adults who need some extra help every day, and the setting keeps things simple, familiar, and a little quieter for people who prefer a smaller home feeling rather than a large, busy center, and that is about all that's known from what's been shared about the place.
