    Beautiful building with excellent amenities

I've been living here and would recommend it - a beautiful, very nice building, one of the best in Detroit Lakes, with Dock 34 and a restaurant-style menu; great food, coffee bar, happy hour, and a solid workout facility. The staff and home care aides are friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and functional, and residents stay engaged with a wide variety of daily activities.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment The collected reviews present a uniformly positive portrait of Pelican Landing. Multiple reviewers emphasize friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, frequent resident engagement, and a lively program of activities. There are repeated commendations for dining — both for the restaurant-style menu and for a specific on-site venue (Dock 34) — as well as for physical amenities such as a coffee bar, workout facility, spacious rooms, and an attractive building design. No negative themes or consistent concerns appear in these summaries.

Staff and care quality Staff performance is the most frequently cited strength. Reviewers repeatedly call staff friendly and helpful and single out home care aides as providing great-quality care. The tone suggests staff not only handle clinical or daily support tasks well but also contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that supports resident engagement. Several mentions of staff friendliness paired with descriptors like "helpful" and "great quality care" indicate both interpersonal strengths and competent caregiving.

Activities and resident engagement Activity programming is another clear highlight. Reviews mention a variety of activities, "daily new activities," regular happy hour events, and "many fun activities," with an explicit statement that residents are engaged on a daily basis. This combination of variety, frequency, and social events implies programming that is both broad and consistent, supporting socialization and daily stimulation for residents.

Facilities and amenities Physical aspects of the community receive strong praise. Descriptors such as "beautiful facility," "very nice building," "spacious rooms," and "functional layout" suggest a well-designed, comfortable environment. Amenities called out by multiple reviewers include a workout facility and coffee bar, which point to attention to resident lifestyle and wellbeing beyond basic care. The specific mention of Dock 34 as an on-site restaurant further highlights amenity depth and an emphasis on an elevated living experience.

Dining experience Dining emerges as a standout feature. Reviewers describe a "restaurant-style menu," "great menu," and "great food," and they specifically reference Dock 34, indicating that the dining venues and offerings are memorable and well-regarded. The presence of a restaurant-style approach, coupled with social dining events like happy hour, conveys a focus on both culinary quality and social dining opportunities.

Reputation and recommendations Several reviewers express a high level of overall satisfaction, with phrasing like "best in Detroit Lakes" and explicit recommendations. The consistency of positive comments across staff, activities, dining, and physical space suggests a strong local reputation and broad-based strengths rather than isolated positives.

Patterns and notable absence of concerns A notable pattern in these summaries is the unanimity of positive feedback. There are no negative aspects, complaints, or recurring concerns captured in the provided summaries. Because all items supplied are favorable, there is no evidence here of operational problems, cleanliness issues, care shortfalls, or management criticisms. That said, absence of criticism in this sample does not guarantee a lack of issues overall — only that the provided reviews did not surface any. If a balanced decision is needed, seeking additional reviews or direct questions about staffing levels, turnover, cost, and clinical services would be prudent.

Conclusion Taken together, the review summaries depict Pelican Landing as an attractive, well-run community with strong staff and caregiving, a varied and active programming schedule, highly regarded dining, and quality on-site amenities. Reviewers consistently describe the facility as beautiful and comfortable, praise the food and restaurant options, and recommend the community. No negative themes are present in the supplied summaries, and the dominant impression is one of resident satisfaction and a lively, supportive environment.

    About Pelican Landing

Pelican Landing is a senior living community that offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care for seniors 55 and older, and folks who move there can pick from several one and two-bedroom apartments on a three-level campus, which gives them a chance to age in place with the kind of support they need as the years go by, and that makes a lot of people feel more settled. The assisted living services at Pelican Landing help residents with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, getting up and down, and taking medicine, and they don't have to leave their apartment as their care needs change since staff can adjust what they do for each person, and a Registered Nurse checks what kind of help is needed through a thorough assessment. Memory care at Pelican Landing focuses on people living with dementia and includes a separate, secure neighborhood with suites and common areas, 24-hour supervision, living room spaces, and a central dining area where meals are served, and this all helps keep residents with memory issues both safe and comfortable. The staff works with doctors, pharmacy, and therapists to make sure care is up to date, and there's always someone close by with a reliable emergency call system that means help is available at any hour of the day or night, which eases worries for both residents and their families. Amenities include apartments with furnishings, meal service with special diets like allergy or diabetic options, cleaning and laundry help, barber and salon, a library, walking paths and gardens, arts room, a community room, and events like movie night or resident-run activities, which makes for a lively place to spend time. Residents have their own telephones in their apartments for easier communication, and they can just add home care services as needed, without having to move out or start over, so a person can settle in and know there's support on hand if their health or mobility changes. The care team is professional and tries to treat everyone with compassion, and there's an emphasis on staying active and social, with programs to keep people engaged, so a tenant can feel at home while getting the help they need each day. The whole campus has security features, especially in memory care-meaning doors and routines are set up to keep folks safe. Pelican Landing values independence but knows when a little help goes a long way, and these things add up to an honest, straightforward option for seniors looking for a safe environment and a strong sense of community.
