    Small home with exceptional care

I placed my loved one in this small 16-resident home and am very pleased. Owners Alyce and Mark are hands-on, kind, and trustworthy, and the skilled, caring staff (including an RN with ICU/hospice experience) give thoughtful, family-like care-often feeling like twice that of a nursing home. Meals are nutritious, activities engaging, residents seem genuinely happier, and although it's expensive, it's worth it; I highly recommend this beautiful place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive: families and reviewers describe BeeHive Homes Assisted Living as a caring, well-run, and intimate facility where residents receive attentive, high-quality care. Multiple reviews emphasize the personal involvement of the owners, Mark and Alyce, calling them kind, compassionate, and a “Godsend” to families. The facility is characterized as small and home-like (16 residents), which reviewers associate with individualized attention and a warm environment rather than an institutional feel.

Clinical care and experience are highlighted repeatedly. Reviewers specifically note that the community’s RN/director has ICU and hospice experience, and that the level of care provided is substantially higher than that of a typical nursing home — one review explicitly states “care twice that of a nursing home.” This clinical expertise is cited as a key reason families feel their loved ones are in “good hands.” The presence of skilled, experienced clinicians appears to reinforce trust and comfort among families and residents.

Staff culture and day-to-day caregiving receive strong praise. Reviews describe staff as caring, kind, thoughtful, ethical, and trustworthy. Multiple comments indicate staff are professional and engaging, and that team members step in to cover shifts or responsibilities when short-handed. That willingness to cover demonstrates a culture of teamwork and commitment to resident well-being, and is a recurrent theme used to explain why families feel confident leaving loved ones at the home.

The facility’s size and setting are presented as strengths. The 16-resident scale is repeatedly mentioned and associated with a beautiful, home-like atmosphere that allows staff to get to know residents personally. Reviewers frequently note resident happiness and high-quality, nutritious meals, suggesting that both programming and daily living needs are well-managed. Activities are described as engaging, contributing to residents’ quality of life and social engagement.

Management and ownership receive particularly favorable comments. Mark and Alyce are called out by name in multiple reviews as being hands-on, accessible, and genuinely caring. Reviewers use terms such as professional, kind, and ethical to describe leadership, and many explicitly recommend the community. The combination of owners’ involvement and experienced clinical leadership forms a consistent pattern in the reviews that contributes to families’ trust.

The primary concerns raised are operational and related to scale. Reviewers note staffing challenges when the home considers expansion and mention occasional staffing shortages that require staff to cover extra shifts. Those points are framed more as practical limitations than as complaints about quality of care — the reviews emphasize that staff do cover when needed — but they do signal potential constraints if the community were to grow or if demand increases. The small 16-resident capacity, while praised for fostering individualized care, is also listed as a limiting factor for families who might need larger facilities or immediate availability.

In summary, the reviews paint BeeHive Homes Assisted Living as a small, owner-driven community with experienced clinical leadership and a strong, compassionate staff culture. Strengths center on high-quality clinical care, personalized attention, nourishing meals, engaging activities, and trustworthy management. The most notable operational caution is staffing and capacity limitations related to expansion; these do not appear to undermine day-to-day care but are important considerations for future growth or availability. Overall, reviewers consistently recommend the home and portray it as a reliable, caring option for assisted living needs.

    About BeeHive Homes Assisted Living

BeeHive Homes Assisted Living in Moorhead, Minnesota, has a smaller home setting that looks and feels a lot like a regular house, which some folks are more comfortable with, and these homes have a cheerful, clean look with outdoor patios, a garden, and walking paths that residents can use safely. The place covers assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, and memory care for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, so people don't have to worry about moving elsewhere as their needs change, and they do individualized care plans based on regular assessments to help each resident get what fits best for them. Rooms mostly come private, with bathrooms and ADA showers for ease, though there are options that can work for couples, and amenities like cable TV, phone, public Wi-Fi, and washers and dryers come included, making daily life a little simpler, and there are handicapped accessible features and a sprinkler system for safety, plus a 24-hour security system and staffing around the clock for peace of mind. Residents get help with things like dressing, grooming, bathing, walking, transfers, laundry, and medication support, while skilled caregivers, not nurses on staff but with a nurse on call 24/7, take the time to know everyone and help out as needed, and there's help with wound care, health coordination, and memory care programs that are designed for folks coping with cognitive changes. There's a focus on independence where possible, but staff will pitch in with daily needs, so people can still have routines like fishing in the courtyard, quilting, or joining in movie nights and arts and crafts, plus health and wellness programs, educational talks, and various social activities to keep things lively. Regular meal services come recommended by a dietitian, served in a dining room or a private dining space, all home-cooked and fresh, and there's also a salon and barbershop, fitness center, activity/game room, and even help with transportation to appointments, errands, or outings, which can be a big relief when getting places is hard. For those who need a break or help after surgery or an illness, the community offers short-term respite care with furnished rooms, home-cooked meals, and planned activities. BeeHive Homes accepts long-term care insurance, coordinates help with payments, and encourages prospective residents and families to read up on costs, contract terms, and to ask about experiences from current residents, while their website has a map, driving directions, and more details about services-though someone from staff usually helps welcome visitors and answer questions when people schedule a tour. The place gets good reviews and sticks to a set of core values like integrity, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and Christian values, and recommends talking with healthcare providers and reviewing licensing and inspection records when considering options. The overall goal here is to create a homelike setting where folks get the care they need, can stay connected with others, and maintain as much independence as possible as their needs change.
