    Bright, caring, pet-friendly memory care

I toured and moved my parent here and have been very pleased. The facility is bright, clean and home-like, staff are consistently friendly, caring and responsive, and admissions was helpful. Meals are good, activities and outings keep residents engaged, and the memory-care team showed compassionate nursing and end-of-life support. Pet-friendly, small community with great communication - overall a very positive experience I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews portray a community with many strengths: caregivers and clinical staff are frequently described as warm, attentive and knowledgeable, and families commonly cite compassionate day-to-day interactions and thorough communication. The community emphasizes social engagement — an active calendar includes live music, crafts, outings, exercise classes, religious services and special events — and residents have access to on-site rehabilitation, medication management and shuttle transportation. Dining is generally praised for variety, flavor and accommodating dietary needs, with notable enthusiasm for desserts and special-menu options. Public areas and many apartments are characterized as bright, well-decorated and comfortable, and the site is pet-friendly with accessible outdoor spaces.

At the same time, recurring operational issues surface across reviews. Staffing levels and staff continuity are a consistent concern: understaffing, use of interim personnel and turnover have been associated with delays in direct-care response and interruptions to routine personal care. Several families described inconsistent bathing and grooming schedules and delays attending to resident needs, which indicates variability in day-to-day care delivery. Medication delivery and administration processes were also called out as inconsistent in a number of accounts.

Facility and layout strengths coexist with limitations. Many reviewers appreciate roomy, light-filled apartments, private bathrooms and pleasant views; others point to small room footprints, narrow hallways and access constraints (staircases, elevator routing) that can make navigation difficult for some residents. Memory-care areas drew mixed feedback — features such as locked access and controlled outdoor spaces are positive, while crowding and occasional security-process gaps were mentioned as operational weaknesses. Maintenance responsiveness and certain sanitation concerns in specific areas were raised, suggesting variability in environmental upkeep.

Management and administrative themes include recurring confusion about pricing and billing (including upfront payment expectations), occasional front-desk communication problems, and perceptions of uneven oversight. A small number of serious conduct concerns were also described, indicating the importance of asking about staff supervision and break-time policies during a tour. Many families recommend the community overall but advise prospective residents to verify current staffing models, review the contract and billing terms carefully, and observe the memory-care environment in person.

In sum, this community offers a strong social program, appealing physical environment and many examples of compassionate care. However, prospective residents and families should assess operational consistency — particularly staffing stability, personal-care routines, medication processes, and financial terms — to determine whether the facility’s current capabilities align with their expectations and care needs.

    About New Perspective Minnetonka

New Perspective Minnetonka is a senior living community in Minnetonka that offers many different care options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing and rehab, home health, and adult day care, and they've got respite care too for short stays or recovery. The building itself has an elegant, home-like look and a warm, comfortable feeling, with a welcoming lobby, a bistro, a lounge with a fireplace and TV, and nice dining rooms with simple, tasteful decor, and there are fresh flowers all over and pet-friendly spaces with dogs and cats around that make things feel lively and familiar. There's a beautiful courtyard and a garden patio with lush landscaping where folks can sit and relax outside, and inside, you'll find game rooms, a library for reading or movies, a salon, a fitness center, and lots of cozy spaces with comfy chairs and tables set up for talking, games, or group activities, plus they offer lots of different floor plans-44 choices, including studios, one-bedroom, two-room, and companion suites, many with accessible bathrooms and plenty of shelving.

The community puts a big effort into keeping everything clean and safe with programs like "Clean. Safe. Engaged." that use natural disinfectants and special cleaning equipment and focus on hand hygiene, and they have full-time activity directors keeping up a schedule of daily events, from gardening, games, and craft fairs to outings and entertainment, plus special Life Engagement Managers who help residents stay active and connected. Their staff provide personal support, including helping with dressing, bathing, medication, and other daily needs, and they offer memory care neighborhoods specially designed for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia, using secure spaces and tailored programs to help residents be safe, reduce anxiety, and keep a sense of dignity and joy. Family and friends are welcome to visit often, and residents can bring their own pets, which is nice for people who want the company.

Dining includes made-from-scratch meals with an actual dining room experience, and there's snacks and drinks in the bistro, with different spots to eat, including compact kitchen areas in the memory care wing decorated with bright tablecloths and flowers. The focus is on letting people live with as much independence as possible, but there's skilled nursing staff on-site all the time, and they have partnerships with Curana Health for medical checkups, medication monitoring, and regular health care, and there's physical and occupational therapy available right there in the building for folks who need extra support or rehab. Everyone gets housekeeping and laundry services, plus transportation for shopping and trips, and they're close to parks, lakes, golf, and medical offices whenever folks want to go out. The atmosphere's peaceful and friendly, and residents say the staff are kind and caring, always helping people find the right balance between staying active and getting the support they need.
