    Compassionate staff, clean facility, supportive

I'm glad I gave NPCC another chance - the staff are compassionate, hardworking, and truly kept me informed and supported during a difficult time (they even sent flowers and meals). The facility is clean, well-maintained, with excellent food, active programming, and a rehab team that feels like family. I would recommend NPCC for short- or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Feedback for Accura HealthCare of North Platte is mixed, with a clear split between families who praise interpersonal care and those who describe operational shortcomings. Many accounts emphasize compassionate, hands-on caregiving, a warm staff culture, and visible leadership engagement from the director of nursing and administrator. Those positive experiences frequently note clear communication with families, supportive outreach during difficult events (including pandemic-related assistance and gestures after a resident's death), well-prepared meals, and a range of activities such as games, puzzles, movie nights and salon services. Housekeeping and general building maintenance are commonly described as strengths, contributing to a presentable and safe environment for residents.

At the same time, a recurring theme across reviews is variability in day-to-day care. Several families described an initial positive placement experience followed by declines in responsiveness or lapses in routine clinical tasks. These patterns translate into facility-level concerns about inconsistent staffing, medication-management and delivery gaps, and supply limitations that can affect incontinence care and timely treatments. There are also specific, serious allegations regarding staff conduct and professionalism, including claims about staff sleeping on duty; such comments indicate a need for thorough personnel oversight and clear accountability systems.

Therapy and clinical services receive mixed feedback. Many reviewers praise the rehabilitation team and describe good therapy outcomes, while others report uneven therapy effectiveness or long waits for respiratory or other treatments. Emergency and critical-incident handling is a notable area of concern for some families; comments suggest opportunities to strengthen emergency-response protocols and family communication following clinical events. Billing and administrative processes are another operational weakness cited, with delays in refunds and invoice resolution contributing to family frustration, even as some reviewers commend administration for responsiveness when issues are escalated.

Facility condition and accommodations show a split as well. The building is generally described as clean and well-kept, but a subset of reviewers characterize portions of the facility as aging or in need of overhaul; room size, lighting, and modernization of certain areas were singled out as needing improvement. Activities programming and social engagement are frequently rated positively, supporting both short-term rehabilitation stays and longer-term residency for many families.

In summary, Accura HealthCare of North Platte appears to offer strong interpersonal care, engaged leadership, and solid dining and activity programs, but it also exhibits operational inconsistencies that prospective residents and families should evaluate. When considering placement, request current staffing ratios, medication-administration protocols, emergency-response procedures, supply policies (including continence supplies), and recent quality-improvement actions following ownership or leadership changes. An in-person tour and conversations with nursing leadership about how the facility addresses the specific cons above will help assess whether the environment matches a resident's clinical and personal needs.

About Accura HealthCare of North Platte

Accura HealthCare of North Platte, also known as Stonebridge Suites, sits at 2900 W E St in North Platte, Nebraska, offering care for many different needs with 71 certified beds, and it's part of Arboreta Healthcare and associated with the Nebraska Health Care Association, while the ownership rests with Iane Properties I LLC and management's been under Arboreta Healthcare Consulting, LLC since 2012, making it a familiar face in the region. The community provides long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, adult day services, memory care, as well as home health care that's Medicare-certified, plus non-medical home care, hospice care, and offers respite care stays from 3 days up to 2 weeks for families who need a break or time away, and uses these short stays to help people see if long-term care feels right for them or assists them when leaving the hospital or recovering. The center aims to deliver personalized care, so they develop individualized plans that enhance each resident's quality of life and include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, with daily activities, therapeutic recreation, and formal programs that work to keep residents active and engaged, and they even add music therapy or education about illnesses for hospice care, with focus on providing pain management and emotional support by teaming up with hospice providers. Residents in the memory care unit get support made for dementia and memory issues, while those with more complex medical conditions like traumatic brain injury, palliative needs, ventilator support, or bariatric needs can find services here, and everyone has access to 24-hour nursing care that addresses not just the medical side but helps with psychological, nutritional, physical, and spiritual health, with a family-for-life approach that tries to support both the residents and their loved ones. While the campus doesn't list any flashy or unique amenities, and details about private rooms or activities aren't specific, it does have the usual features common in senior care facilities, including daily routine programming, clinical care, and a homelike setting, and strives to help residents stay as independent as possible while keeping them involved in community life. The most recent inspection reports show 17 deficiencies in all, including a couple related to infection control and a marked violation about making sure care matches orders and the resident's preferences, plus a deficiency about monthly drug reviews by a licensed pharmacist, though there hasn't been any actual harm and there aren't any big complaints with quality or safety, nor has the facility been fined by CMS. The facility shows a staffing rate of 3.17 nurse hours per resident per day, which covers RN time even on weekends, and while some official ratings from CMS for staffing, health inspections, and quality measures come in at 0.0, this might reflect limits in available data rather than a lack of staff or care. Overall, Accura HealthCare of North Platte tries to offer a wide range of support in a comprehensive way for older adults facing different kinds of health challenges, and the facility combines skilled care, therapy, activity, and community to help people age with dignity, as best it can, in a small Midwest city.
