    Resident praises attentive, caring staff

I live here and am very pleased - the staff (Megan and Hannah included) are attentive, caring and quick to respond, and residents genuinely seem happy. The facility is clean, well-maintained and accessible, with very good, varied meals, plenty of activities, a weekly hair stylist, on-site doctor visits and free transportation to appointments. It's welcoming, affordable for the value, and I would recommend it to families seeking respectful, dignified care and an active community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Remington Heights presents as a well‑appointed retirement community with a strong social culture and a wide range of amenities. Many reviewers praised the welcoming admissions staff and tour guides, the active calendar of activities, on‑site salon services, outdoor spaces, and generally well‑maintained common areas. Independent living residents and families frequently described good value for money, homestyle dining, reliable transportation to appointments, and a friendly, engaged resident population.

Care quality and staffing: Care experiences are mixed. Numerous accounts describe compassionate, attentive caregivers and quick responsiveness to routine requests, while other accounts raise serious operational concerns when residents require higher levels of clinical support. Patterns noted include frequent staff turnover, shifts in nursing personnel, and instances that point to weaknesses in medication handling and handoff processes. Several families indicated they needed to be persistent advocates to ensure needs were met. These patterns suggest that the facility may be best suited to residents with lower medical dependency unless prospective families confirm stable clinical staffing and robust medication safeguards.

Dining and services: Dining is often cited as a strength—meals described as homestyle and generally well prepared, with on‑site meal service and special arrangements during infection‑control events. At the same time, reviewers also reported occasional service disruptions, limited menu availability, and inconsistent presentation during busy periods. Housekeeping and room maintenance are generally provided, but there are reports of variable frequency and cleanliness in some rooms and public areas, indicating inconsistent execution of housekeeping protocols.

Activities and community life: Activity programming is consistently highlighted as a major positive. The community offers a wide range of daily and weekly options—games, music, religious services, outings, and social events—which supports social engagement and resident satisfaction. Amenity spaces such as exercise rooms, recreation rooms, and patios are used regularly and contribute to the community’s active atmosphere.

Facilities and apartments: The building combines updated public spaces and older apartment stock. Several units have accessibility features (grab bars, walk‑in showers, automatic lights), though some apartments were described as small with limited storage and in need of cosmetic updates. Ongoing renovations have improved certain areas (for example, the dining room), but they have also caused temporary disorganization according to reviewers.

Management and patterns to watch: Admissions staff and certain front‑line employees receive strong praise for their responsiveness and warmth, but there are recurring comments about inconsistent management responsiveness and occasional unprofessional conduct at the reception or nursing level. Reported operational weaknesses center on staffing stability, medication controls, personal‑care consistency, housekeeping standards, and emergency/fall response capabilities. Prospective residents and families should ask targeted questions about current staffing ratios, clinical oversight, medication‑administration procedures, housekeeping schedules, and protocols for transporting or escorting higher‑need residents (for example dialysis or urgent appointments).

Bottom line: Remington Heights appears to be a good fit for independent older adults seeking an active community with numerous amenities, social programming, and value. Families considering assisted‑living level care or higher medical needs should perform thorough due diligence: verify current nursing/staff stability, observe assisted‑living routines, review incident and medication‑management policies, and confirm procedures for escorts and emergency response before making a placement decision.

    About Remington Heights Retirement Community

Remington Heights Retirement Community sits in Omaha, NE, as part of Century Park Associates, and folks know it for offering a full range of living options like Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Continuing Care all under one roof, which means people can get more help if they need it later on without needing to move. The building is three stories tall, made for seniors to move around easily, and every type of apartment-studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom-comes with a kitchenette and a private bathroom, but you bring your own furniture to really feel at home. The apartments are pet-friendly, which means residents can bring along their furry companions, and there are even routines and amenities that make things comfortable without being fancy for the sake of it, like a no-smoking policy around the whole campus for good health, and safe, well-kept rooms, though some of the apartments are on the smaller side.

Residents get three chef-prepared meals every day in a dining room with well-kept chairs and a staff that gets to know people by name, and if somebody doesn't feel up to going to the dining room, meals can come right to the apartment. There's always some kind of activity going on, from root beer float Wednesdays to group fitness, indoor pool swim time, and social or cultural events that get planned regularly, plus a posted calendar helps folks stay in the loop and busy as much as they want to be. The Life Enrichment team runs activities seven days a week, and transportation for shopping, sightseeing, and medical appointments is offered with a little planning ahead. Social touches like a private dining room for parties, a courtyard to enjoy some fresh air, coffered ceilings in the lobby, and spots where you can sit by the fireplace make things cozy and a bit elegant without feeling too fancy.

The staff helps with everything from bathing and dressing, to grooming, medication management, and meal prep, and folks get personalized care plans with routine wellness checks so help's never far away. People with dementia can live in Memory Care, and folks needing Skilled Nursing have support on-site, so a person can stay in the same community even as needs change. The community keeps the atmosphere warm and welcoming, with friendly associates around at all hours, laundry and housekeeping services, on-site therapy, and a team committed to letting residents live as independently as possible for as long as they can. Remington Heights got recognized as a 2025 Best Assisted Living Community by U.S. News & World Report, which means many find the mix of comfort, safety, and a caring environment to be just what's wanted during these later years. Unlimited visiting hours, private spaces to decorate, and a dynamic group of residents who appreciate good food and the small pleasures-like the taste of a root beer float on a Wednesday-round out the picture of daily life here.
