    Spotless modern community excellent value

I moved in recently and I'm very pleased - the community is spotless, modern, and bright. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional; maintenance and concierge respond quickly. My apartment is well-designed with great storage and in-unit laundry, and the campus has a saltwater pool, gym, lots of activities and shuttle service. Meals are restaurant-quality with plenty of choices and flexible hours - a welcoming, active place that offers excellent value.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Revel Nevada are overwhelmingly positive, with recurring praise focused on the staff, food, facility quality, amenities, and active lifestyle. Most reviewers describe Revel as a modern, well-kept, hotel-like independent living community that offers abundant activities, restaurant-style dining, and attentive services that create a vacation-like, low-stress lifestyle. Many residents and family members emphasize the caring, personable nature of staff from the executive director through concierges and servers, and highlight the consistency and professionalism of teams who support move-in, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, and concierge services.

Staff and care quality: The dominant theme across reviews is that staff are exceptional — friendly, courteous, professional, and often described as going the extra mile. Concierge and front desk personnel receive frequent mentions for being helpful and efficient (message forwarding, 24-hour presence). Tour staff and directors (some named) are praised for informative, organized tours that make prospects feel welcome. Housekeeping and maintenance are generally described as quick and efficient, with weekly cleaning and responsive repairs. Reviewers consistently note that staff know residents by name and foster a family-like, caring environment. That said, a minority of reviews report management turnover or newer/inexperienced employees, and some specific complaints tie diminished service or food issues to restaurant management instability.

Facilities and apartments: Revel is widely described as a new/up-to-date, clean, and attractive property with hotel-quality finishes. Apartment positives include spacious floor plans, stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, in-unit washers/dryers, patios/balconies in some units, and ample storage. The community layout supports an upscale ambience with bright, open designs and abundant natural light. Common amenities highlighted repeatedly include a large saltwater (chlorine-free) pool, comfortable hot tub/Jacuzzi, fitness center, beauty salon/barber, game rooms (pool, ping-pong), small movie theaters, art room, and landscaped grounds with a gated dog park. A few reviews caution that the building is large and multilevel, which can result in long walks to the dining room for some residents and reliance on elevators.

Dining: Dining receives very high marks overall: restaurant-style service, extended hours (some mention 7:30 am to 7:30 pm), made-to-order meals, fresh high-quality offerings, homemade desserts, and creative daily specials. The points-based dining credit system is popular for its flexibility and generous allocation, though some reviewers noted administrative issues such as points not carrying forward or confusion around carryover/credits. Several reviews call out servers and dining staff as special, responsive, and willing to accommodate allergies and preferences. While many praise the food as gourmet or above-average, a handful of reviews report declining food quality, small portions, or inconsistent service tied to management turnover — these appear as minority but notable concerns.

Activities and social life: Revel emphasizes an active social calendar with a strong variety of programming: daily scheduled activities, live music, themed parties, clubs (poker, bridge, mahjong), fitness classes, art classes, bingo, movie nights, outings to restaurants, and transportation-supported events. Residents frequently describe never being bored, citing cruise-level entertainment, a lively social environment, and numerous opportunities to make friends. Activity directors receive positive mentions for creativity and inclusive programming. Some reviewers, however, describe limited or cramped activity spaces (small craft rooms) or say individual residents still feel bored, indicating that while activity variety is broad, personal fit may vary.

Transportation and security: Transportation services are commonly praised: scheduled shuttle buses, appointment vans, and organized outings provide residents independence without driving. Security is highlighted as robust with 24-hour concierge/security and a safe feeling on site, though a small number of reviews allege lapses (e.g., a claim of ‘no security’) which appear isolated. Additional conveniences include concierge assistance, message forwarding, and guest services.

Value, management, and concerns: Many reviewers feel the community delivers good value relative to cost, especially given the high level of amenities and service. However, cost remains a recurring downside — several reviewers call the monthly fees high or pricey. Management stability emerges as a mixed pattern: while many describe consistent, attentive leadership and a positive new management team in some comments, other reviews warn of management turnover and restaurant leadership instability that reportedly affected food quality and service. Contract and policy issues are also raised by multiple reviewers: concerns about binding contracts, punitive lease buyout terms, and new charges after ownership changes. Prospective residents should carefully review contract terms, meal/point policies (carryover), and any recent management changes before committing.

Suitability and caveats: Revel presents strongly as an upscale independent living community suited to active seniors who want social engagement, dining variety, and minimal household maintenance. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize it is not an assisted living facility; those needing higher levels of medical or personal care should consider this limitation. There are occasional isolated reports of service lapses (food, pool cleaning, security) and of residents who would be better served in assisted living — these are not the norm but should be part of decision-making. Overall, the most consistent impressions are of outstanding staff, high-quality dining and amenities, a vibrant activity program, modern apartments, and a welcoming community, balanced against the realities of cost, contract terms, and the independent-living scope of care.
