The Echelon - CLOSED was a two-story senior living community located at 4330 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119, close to Flamingo Road in the Las Vegas Valley, and you'd always know it was built for people aged 55 and older who needed different kinds of care, so whether someone needed independent living, assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, or even a short respite stay, they usually had some sort of option for it, with apartments set up with full kitchens, private balconies, spacious layouts, and accessible features like wheelchair-friendly showers, ground floor units, emergency alert systems, and air-conditioning, which all made daily life a little easier for seniors who either liked to do things for themselves or needed regular help with things like getting dressed or bathed, taking medicine, or getting from place to place. The apartments, which sometimes included private bathtubs and cable or satellite TV, had a kind of homely feeling, and you'd see people using their room phones or enjoying a meal through the room service offered in some areas, while the building's common spaces were set up for people to spend time together, so you'd find a community arts room, laundry area, both outdoor and indoor gathering places, and a garden with walking paths, plus things like a pool and hot tub if someone wanted a relaxing afternoon.
Dining was an important part of life at The Echelon, with a dedicated professional chef preparing meals, and folks could choose from 1 or 2 prepared meals a day, all-day dining in a dining room, or special meal options for low sodium or sugar needs, along with a chance for restaurant-style meals, international cuisine, guest dining, and wine tastings, and there were happy hours and religious services, sometimes with Bible study and devotional activities right there or off-site. The schedule often included art classes, educational programs, live musical performances, dances, movie nights, karaoke, cooking classes, trips out to see local attractions, and other events to give people a chance for fellowship or fun, with lifelong learning and educational speakers on the calendar as well.
Daily help included housekeeping, laundry, move-in coordination, medication management, transportation, general healthcare services for medical needs, and on-site beauticians and barbers, so seniors wouldn't have to worry as much about their regular chores or care, and there were always safety measures, like 24-hour supervision, emergency call systems, specially tailored safety features for memory care, and on-site staff, including a kind General Manager, ready to help during emergencies, even if there was a fire, where the Clark County Fire Department would respond and staff would help evacuate people, treat any smoke inhalation, investigate, and keep everyone as safe as possible, with further help from groups like the American Red Cross when needed. Amenities supported active lifestyles with space for art, crafts, and recreation, and community activities supported making friends and meaningful lives, even as people got help with daily living.
The Echelon offered competitive prices and usually adjusted its services to what each person needed, with amenities and extras sometimes included, sometimes available for an extra cost, all part of an approach that aimed to give comfort and make residents feel cared for, with a focus on compassionate care, staying active, and building friendships. However, The Echelon is now a closed facility, meaning it's no longer open and doesn't take new residents. The building had a unique hospitality approach and tried to set itself apart, but as of now, it's permanently closed and doesn't offer senior living services anymore.
