Atria Summit Ridge sits up in the northwest corner of Reno, right on a hilltop where you can see the whole valley and even the Sierra Nevada mountains off in the distance, and the community feels smaller and more personal, so people seem to know each other and the staff has been around a long time, averaging over eight years or so. Residents choose between studio or one-bedroom apartments, each one spacious and nicely furnished, and these apartments can be decorated and arranged to fit your style. Those who have pets can bring them, but there are a few rules about size and temperament that vary from place to place. The grounds are well kept, and there are gardens, a courtyard, and outdoor spots like a rose garden and a fountain where people like to gather or sit outside when the weather is nice, and you'll find indoor community spaces too such as a computer room, a large library, movie theater, a bistro, and plenty of other spaces for events or quiet time.
The community accepts private pay and credit cards, and is licensed by the state (413-AGC-48). Folks here find several types of care, including independent living for healthy, active older adults, assisted living for those who need extra support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, and memory care in Life Guidance® neighborhoods for people living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, with specially-trained staff and part-time nursing help. There's also supporting services for those needing skilled nursing or even home care, and for families just needing a short stay, respite care is available. The team helps with meals, apartment cleaning, linens, and scheduled rides for outings or errands, all covered in the monthly rent. Staff members-trained in ethics and to support memory care-are around, with a full desk from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and emergency alert systems in every apartment.
Meals are served restaurant-style with fresh food three times each day, and there are several dining spaces, including outdoor and private rooms, so residents can eat with friends or family. The Engage Life® program goes on all month, bringing lectures, game nights, arts and crafts, book swaps, dance events, yoga, and all sorts of activities-usually over 200 different options every month-plus the staff schedules special outings around the Reno area so people can shop, see the sights, or get to appointments. High-speed internet, handicap accessible spaces, housekeeping, and routine maintenance are all included, so daily chores don't get in the way.
Atria Summit Ridge believes in supporting each resident's independence and choices, so folks can keep doing what they love, whether that's gardening, playing games, listening to music, or joining a club, and the staff helps out quietly where it's needed, letting people keep as much independence as they want. With different care options in one spot, this community gives older adults a place to live comfortably, stay active, and get whatever help they need, all while overlooking beautiful Reno and the mountains beyond.
