    Cozy clean home, caring staff

I had a very positive experience at this cozy, home-like facility - rooms are clean and private, the house is well-maintained, and the backyard with a fountain and raised garden beds is lovely. Staff and residents were warm and active, the owner was friendly, and there are plenty of activities and varied meals; I feel my mom would love it.

    Summary of reviews

Silver Maples presents a mixed picture: reviewers consistently highlight a warm, home-like environment with well-kept interiors and attractive outdoor spaces. Families and residents praised courteous, engaged staff and an owner who is visible and well-regarded. The house is described as clean and comfortable, with private rooms, active programming (painting, group activities), and an appealing garden area with raised beds and a fountain. Meal variety and a range of activities were also noted as strengths that contribute to residents’ social engagement and overall satisfaction.

On routine assisted-living metrics the facility appears to perform well; day-to-day staffing is characterized as polite and welcoming, and the physical setting supports a domestic rather than institutional feel. The presence of an interior chair lift was noted as a helpful accessibility feature inside the home. Residents’ rooms and common areas were repeatedly described as clean and well-maintained, reinforcing the impression of a comfortable residential setting.

However, multiple reviewers raised operational concerns around clinical oversight and emergency response. Several accounts described falls and subsequent emergency-room transfers during periods of heightened stress, and described difficulty obtaining timely adaptations to care during the COVID-19 period. Taken together, these items suggest gaps in fall-prevention, transfer-safety practices, and crisis preparedness that families should evaluate when considering higher-acuity needs. There were also assertions that physician instructions were not always followed, indicating a need to verify how the facility documents and implements individualized care plans.

Accessibility and service continuity are additional areas to scrutinize. The facility’s entry and some circulation are stair-dependent, limiting access for people who use wheelchairs despite the interior chair lift; this may restrict suitability for residents with significant mobility impairments. Reviewers also described limited options for temporary or respite placements and a perception that visitation and other policies were inflexible during infection-control events, which contributed to family stress.

Management and communication present a mixed impression: while the owner receives positive comments, there are isolated but notable concerns about managerial professionalism, staff changes, and communication with families during unusual circumstances. Prospective residents and representatives should ask for current staffing patterns, written emergency and infection-control protocols, examples of how individualized care plans are followed, and documentation of accessibility features. Overall, Silver Maples may be well suited for residents seeking a small, home-like assisted-living environment with active social programming, but families of individuals with higher medical or mobility needs should perform careful due diligence around safety practices, crisis protocols, and accessibility.

    About Silver Maples

Silver Maples Residential Care sits in a quiet part of Claremont, NH, on 21 wooded acres and offers seniors a place where they can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, and you'll find that the place is both clean and well kept, with private rooms and lots of friendly staff who help residents with things like bathing, dressing, eating, and getting around if they need it. This small care community, licensed for either 6 or 10 residents depending on their program, gives people different care levels, including assisted living, memory care for those with memory issues, hospice care, respite care, independent living, and short-term stays, and they've got both regular support for everyday needs and special programs like Silver Maples Assisted Living and Silver Maples Memory Care for residents who need more focused help. There's a three-week rotating menu offering home-cooked meals each day, and if a resident has health needs, like diabetes or high blood pressure, they can request meal changes, and there are yard spaces, areas for outside relaxation, regular community night events, and a range of activities such as music therapy, pet therapy, board games, crafts, and movie nights-plus a book room, workout area, jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness spaces for those who want to stay active. Residents can also get regular visits from stylists at the salon, use fitness programs, and participate in music plans or craft classes, and Silver Maples even arranges rides for doctor's appointments, shopping, faith centers, and errands. Safety and technology are important to them, offering medical alert systems like Bay Alarm Medical, Medical Guardian, and ADT Medical Alert, plus senior-friendly internet and cell phone plans, hearing aid resources, home security, medication dispensers, ID theft protection, and walk-in tubs for safer bathing. Silver Maples holds a long-term care ombudsman service to speak up for residents, and the state of New Hampshire's Department of Social Services, along with other local agencies, license and survey the facility to make sure it meets required standards. The setting is close to stores, banks, libraries, churches, hair salons, and more, so people can get out when they want to, and residents talk about the atmosphere being as close to 'home' as possible, which is their main goal according to staff. Silver Maples is private pay, with Vermont Medicaid accepted for certain programs like Assistive Community Care Services (ACCS) and Choices For Care. Families can talk to senior living advisors for help finding a care plan and living options, whether for assisted or independent living, memory care, nursing homes, or residential care. Silver Maples has earned a 3.0 star "Very Good" rating from customer reviews, and many local doctors, social workers, and home care providers recommend it for providing stable, superlative care in a small, supportive setting where each resident's needs shape the services they receive. They offer flexible visiting hours for tours and information, including evenings and weekends, and their team keeps communication honest and clear so families know what to expect.
