I had a very positive experience - staff and nurses were consistently friendly, attentive, and caring, rehab and therapy were excellent, admissions/front desk were smooth, and the facility was clean and welcoming. My loved one was well cared for, I felt informed and reassured, and I would highly recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Peninsula Nursing and Rehabilitation elicits strongly mixed impressions. Many reviewers praise frontline caregivers, therapists, and admissions staff — citing compassionate CNAs, effective rehab teams, and an admissions process that can be professional and reassuring. The facility’s public spaces (lobby, reception, and dialysis center) are frequently described as clean and attractive, and several families reported measurable therapy-driven improvement for residents.

At the same time, consistent themes of operational inconsistency appear across reviews. Cleanliness and housekeeping practices vary by unit and shift: reviewers contrast immaculate second-floor areas with patient rooms and other units that need more frequent cleaning, odor control, and routine maintenance. Related facility issues include worn paint, improperly hung window coverings, dust on vents, and concerns about pest control in some areas. These physical-environment inconsistencies affect perceptions of infection-control vigilance and overall comfort.

Care delivery shows a similar pattern of contrast. Positive accounts highlight attentive nursing aides and proactive therapists; negative accounts describe long nurse-response times, delayed attention after falls, inconsistent medication or treatment administration, and occasional gaps in therapy availability. Staffing variability and shift-to-shift performance differences were commonly cited as contributors to uneven care. Several reviewers also raised concerns about communication breakdowns with physicians and families, including unanswered phone calls, insufficient follow-up, and revolving or unavailable social-work contacts. There are additionally allegations involving specific staff conduct and bias; these are serious claims and would merit direct inquiry during any visit or follow-up with the facility or regulators.

Dining and nutrition feedback is mixed but leans negative in aggregate. Multiple reviewers noted cold meals, poor meal presentation, limited diet-appropriate options, and cleanliness issues in kitchen or dining areas. Conversely, some families described satisfactory meal service and dietary management. Prospective families should confirm how the facility accommodates specific dietary needs and inspect dining-area sanitation during a visit.

Management and administrative themes include strong points — notably an effective admissions team and helpful front-desk/security procedures — alongside concerns about continuity and responsiveness in case management. Reviews indicate periodic high staff turnover in social work and inconsistent communication around transitions, discharge, and post-discharge property handling. There are also reports of billing disputes after resident transitions; those accounts suggest asking for clear written policies around billing, possessions, and post-discharge procedures.

Notable patterns: the facility appears capable of providing good rehabilitative care and delivers consistently positive experiences in certain units and shifts, but this is offset by pockets of poor housekeeping, fluctuating staff responsiveness, and administrative communication gaps. For prospective residents and families, recommended due diligence includes touring the specific unit and room, observing cleanliness and staff interactions at different times of day, asking about current staffing ratios and shift coverage, verifying dietary accommodation processes, confirming therapy schedules and one-on-one availability, and requesting a named contact for escalations and follow-up. If there are serious concerns (clinical care, medication management, or conduct), documenting incidents and raising them with the facility’s leadership and appropriate oversight agencies is advised.
