Goodell Home sits in a remodeled, historic brick Colonial-style house from the 1920s on four acres of maintained grounds over in Elmhurst, Jamestown, New York, and you'll notice right away the leaves in the logo, which stand for the founding families and that family feeling carries through the whole place. It's built for seniors looking for a community that's active without needing full nursing home care, and folks can move around on their own but get just enough help with things like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and sometimes a ride out. The home allows up to 10 residents, each in a private room with a private bath, and the rooms come with a 32-inch LED TV and cable, and everybody has access to a big living room with a 60-inch TV and free Netflix. Spaces are set up for gathering and socializing, with a big furnished living room, a dining room, library, outdoor porches, and a Memory Garden for peaceful moments. Residents can have pets, if they're cats or dogs under about 20 pounds, and if someone smokes, there's a place outside for that, too. Meals are made for everyone, and they'll make vegetarian options if someone needs them, and there's help with daily activities, medication reminders, and special attention for anyone with memory care needs. There are always staff and caregivers around to give quality care, from independent to high acuity and incontinence services, and there's a Comfort Today Adult Day Care program for those who just come for part of the day. Devotional activities happen both at the home and outside it, and people can park on site or take the home's complimentary transportation for errands or appointments.
