    Knowledgeable staff, clean rooms, recommended

I placed my sister here and have been very pleased: the staff are knowledgeable, polite and genuinely caring-treating residents like family. Her room was clean with no odors, and the therapists provided intensive, effective rehab that improved her mobility. The new Director of Nursing is engaged and the place is clearly on the rise. She was well taken care of and I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews show a polarized picture of care at this facility. Positive accounts highlight compassionate nursing staff, strong rehabilitation services, and a first-floor nursing team that some families found especially attentive. Therapy programs receive consistent praise for helping residents regain mobility during short-term stays; several reviewers described intensive therapy and measurable functional improvement. Some rooms and units are described as clean and calming, and new leadership initiatives are noted as a potential pathway for ongoing improvement.

At the same time, a recurring cluster of clinical concerns appears across multiple reviews. These include inconsistent medication management and unsecured medication storage, delays in administering prescribed medications and obtaining timely diagnostics, falls and transfer-safety issues, and gaps in adherence to prescribed care plans. Short staffing is frequently linked to delayed responses to call systems, missed or delayed toileting and turning, and slower incident response times. Reviewers also described problems with clinical documentation and accountability, including discrepancies in charting and inconsistent family notification after adverse events.

Facility environment and operations are another area of mixed feedback. Some units are described as well-maintained and odor-free, but others are associated with sanitation issues, linen concerns, and pest-control gaps. Maintenance problems such as ceiling leaks, falling fixtures, and nonfunctional safety systems were called out and raise physical-safety concerns. Dining also drew variable reactions: while some residents were satisfied, others described repetitive menus and deficits in mealtime comfort or accommodations.

Staff culture and management practices show variability. Many families praised individual caregivers and therapists for compassionate, respectful interactions and personalized attention. Conversely, there are multiple accounts of concerning staff conduct, including unprofessional communication, payroll and property-handling problems, and at least one allegation of financial misconduct; these raise questions about personnel oversight and internal controls. Several reviewers noted a change in quality over time and welcomed a newly appointed Director of Nursing who they said was taking steps to address problems.

Taken together, the pattern suggests the facility can deliver effective short-term rehabilitation and benefits from committed clinical staff, but operational weaknessesโ€”particularly in medication controls, staffing levels, sanitation/maintenance, documentation, and family communicationโ€”create variability in outcomes. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's strengths in therapy and individualized caregiver relationships against these operational risks. A focused on-site assessment is advisable: observe medication-storage practices, inquire about staffing ratios and contingency plans, review infection-control and maintenance logs, ask about meal variety and mealtime accommodations, and clarify procedures for family notification and property safeguards before making placement decisions.
