    Friendly staff and excellent therapy

I'm very pleased with the care here - the staff are friendly, helpful and genuinely caring, and the therapy department is excellent. It's a busy place, but residents are treated like family and the overall environment feels loving.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed picture with clear strengths concentrated in the therapy and some direct-care relationships, and recurring operational weaknesses that affect daily life and clinical reliability. Therapy services are consistently described as competent and beneficial, and there are frequent mentions of individual aides and nurses who provide compassionate, family-like care. These positives appear to coexist with systemic problems that influence the overall resident experience.

Care quality and staffing: A central theme is severe and ongoing staffing shortfalls. Reviewers describe long wait times for assistance, unanswered call lights, and situations where a very small number of caregiving staff are responsible for large resident loads. That staffing pressure is associated with delayed or inconsistently administered medications, variable pain control, and prolonged waits for basic care tasks. While some clinicians and aides receive praise for their attentiveness, the facility-level pattern indicates unstable staffing and skill-mix gaps that compromise reliable day-to-day care.

Dining and activities: Meal service is frequently characterized as late and of poor quality, with examples of unappetizing items and cold meals at service. These issues suggest problems in kitchen operations and meal delivery continuity. Activity programming is mentioned less often, but several reviewers noted an unresponsive activities office, which may limit engagement opportunities for residents.

Facilities and safety: Multiple reviews raise concerns about environmental maintenance and sanitation. Specific operational problems include small room size, broken fixtures, stained or damaged finishes, inconsistent temperature control in resident rooms, and limited emergency-power capabilities. There are also references to cleanliness concerns in rehab and common areas. Separately, reviewers describe gaps in alarm and monitoring responsiveness that could present safety risks if not addressed.

Management, communication, and workplace culture: Families describe limited or delayed communication from leadership and nursing administration when incidents occur. Phone accessibility problems and instances where staff could not be reached are recurrent. Reviewers also describe personnel-management practices that create scheduling pressure and low morale; there are allegations of coercive scheduling and labor-law concerns that may affect staff retention. Financial-management concerns were raised regarding resident funds; these merit direct administrative clarification and documentation.

Notable patterns and recommendation guidance: The facility shows clear strengths in its therapy program and in individual caregivers who provide compassionate attention. However, the consistency and reliability of core operations—staffing levels, medication administration, meal service, environmental maintenance, and administrative communication—are the primary areas of concern. Prospective residents and families should evaluate current staffing ratios, medication-safety protocols, kitchen and environmental maintenance plans, and the responsiveness of leadership before admission. If possible, observe staffing at peak care times, request documentation of recent staffing audits and corrective action plans, and ask how the facility addresses clinical-incident communication with families.

    About Absolut Care-Three Rivers

Absolut Care-Three Rivers sits at 101 Creekside Dr and has 120 beds, offering both skilled nursing and rehabilitation for seniors who need short-term or long-term help. People here get care twenty-four hours a day, and nurses can assist with daily activities, wound care, respiratory support, speech therapy, and post-operative care, so there's always someone to help, no matter the situation. Residents and their families often mention that the place feels more like a big family or community because the staff and caretakers try to treat folks with dignity and respect, keeping personal needs in mind. The Care Partnership Program brings rehab staff together with a resident's own doctor or surgeon, which means treatment plans usually fit what a person's used to.

Absolut Care-Three Rivers handles many medical needs, from tracheostomy and ventilator care to dialysis, cardiac rehab, and blood transfusion services, along with special programs like bariatric and chronic illness management. There's a dementia care unit for those with memory problems and animal care options, which might help residents feel at home if they like animals around. You see all sorts of therapies offered-occupational, speech, anodyne for wound healing, and physical therapy for pain or disability prevention. People can access free Wi-Fi if they want to stay in touch or entertained. Short-term respite care is available for families needing a break, and vacation care lets loved ones stay for just a little while if needed.

There are also support services like medical social workers, counseling, and even post-acute care for anyone getting better after surgery or illness, and they offer family caregiving advice plus tips on long-term care insurance if the paperwork or decisions get confusing. Activities run every day, not just during the week, so residents usually have something to do evenings and weekends, and there are faith-based options on campus all week for anyone who wants them. They've got resources for fitness and even practical help like dry cleaning. Funeral home services are also available if a family wants to plan ahead. Each person, whether there for a short stay or as their home, usually gets a treatment plan meant for their particular needs. The staff's commitment is to caring for both medical and daily life, while aiming to make sure families feel comfortable with the choices there.
