    Frequent issues; some helpful staff

I was grateful to get my own unit and appreciated quick approval and help from Mary, DemtriaScott, Clint (prompt maintenance) and Linda (friendly), but my overall experience was mixed. Maintenance problems were constant - elevators and AC often down, no heat or hot water at times, cheap/temporary fixes, roaches and foul odors, broken trash chute and filthy common areas. Office and management were frequently unresponsive or rude, phone unanswered, and my deposit was withheld despite leaving the apartment clean after new ownership. The building felt unsafe at times with transients, drug activity/overdose reports, and nightly loitering in the lobby. New management has made some improvements, but progress is uneven. I appreciated kind staff and some nice apartments, yet I can't recommend this place overall.

    About Nazareth Towers

Nazareth Towers stands in downtown Columbus, Ohio, as a high-rise apartment community set aside for seniors age 62 and above, with a total of 208 homes, all designed for independent living. The building operates under HUD subsidies and LIHTC, which means rent goes by income, so those with limited income can manage the bills more easily, and utilities like electricity, water, gas, sewer, garbage, and heat all get covered in the rent, which is useful because people don't have to worry about extra utility costs adding up. Residents can bring small cats and dogs, and the staff allow pets in the building, which helps some people feel more at home. Security features include controlled access and night patrols, so residents and families feel safer, and there are elevators that make every floor easier to reach, especially for those who don't want to climb stairs or can't.

Each apartment comes with vinyl floors and its own fully equipped kitchen, so residents have the choice to cook or use the dining options available on-site, and all apartments have heating and air conditioning that run by electricity. The management team looks after building operations, including making sure things stay quiet and orderly, and they also handle applications, which ask for documents like a license, Social Security card, proof of income, bank statements, and references, as well as an application fee that's usually $25 to $50, paid by money order. Reserved parking is available for residents with cars, and the location is on or near a COTA bus line, so those who use public transit find it handy for getting around or going to shops, doctors, or local markets and restaurants.

Nazareth Towers has several community features, such as large community rooms, club house, game room, and business center, places where residents can gather, take part in social activities, and make new friends, and the building has easy access to urban spots like markets, pharmacies, and medical offices. The social program runs games, educational events, and other entertainment, so people can stay active and keep busy if they want, and staff are around to help out when needed, which is always a relief for families and residents both. The property offers laundry on-site, and the rooms have enough space to allow seniors to live comfortably. As a Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Provider, Nazareth Towers serves low-income older adults, helping people stay in the heart of the city with flexible rent, a caring staff, and many of the comforts and services folks expect as they age.
