    Spotless modern community, caring staff

I toured this beautiful, modern facility and felt immediately at ease - spotless common areas, attractive decor, lovely grounds and roomy studio/two-bed apartments. The staff (special thanks to Heather Reed) are warm, attentive and caring, and the calendar is packed with music, arts, cooking classes, exercise and daily happy hours. I'm very pleased with the welcoming, thriving community and proud to call it home.

    Summary of reviews

The Coventry presents as a modern, well-appointed senior living community with consistent praise for its physical plant, cleanliness, and breadth of on-site amenities. Reviewers frequently highlight the building’s high-quality decor, large apartments (from studio to two-bedroom), a substantial library, multiple dining rooms, assigned parking and a parking garage, and well-maintained grounds. The atmosphere is described as warm and community-oriented, with many residents and families characterizing it as comfortable, cozy, and an enjoyable place to live.

Staffing and care quality are notable strengths in the reviews. Families and residents consistently describe nursing and administrative staff as attentive and professional. Tour experiences are described as thorough and reassuring, with specific staff members called out for helpfulness. At the caregiving level there are generally positive impressions of compassion and responsiveness; however, reviewers also indicate some variability in aides’ interpersonal style and approach. In operational terms this suggests a broadly competent clinical and administrative presence with occasional inconsistency in frontline aide interactions.

Dining and programming are a prominent part of the community’s appeal. The Coventry offers an active calendar—musical groups, exercise classes, arts and crafts, cooking lessons, and frequent social events such as daily happy hours—that supports a lively social environment. Some reviewers praised the quality of happy hour dining and entertainment and the emphasis on fresh vegetables, while others noted variability in meal quality and questioned the value of the meal-plan depending on individual appetite. Prospective residents should clarify menu options, portioning, and the cost-benefit of the meal plan during touring and contracting.

On care scope and placement, reviewers indicate the facility may not be appropriate for residents who require higher-acuity skilled nursing or more complex medical oversight. One account described a need for more intensive care than the community can provide; families should confirm the facility’s clinical limits and escalation pathways prior to move-in. Financially, the community appears to be in a lease-up phase for some unit types, producing attractive incentives for some families but also creating uncertainty around pricing and availability. Prospective residents should request detailed, written pricing, fee schedules, and any short-term incentives or upcoming rate changes.

Other practical considerations include neighborhood disruption from nearby construction, which several reviewers mentioned as an external source of noise and activity, and the community’s limited availability during lease-up, which may affect move-in timing. Overall, the pattern across reviews is strongly positive on amenities, cleanliness, staff engagement, and social life, coupled with a need for prospective residents and families to verify dining value, clinical scope for complex needs, and transparent pricing before committing.

    About The Coventry

The Coventry sits in Columbus, Ohio, right across the street from the future Upper Arlington Community Center, and offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care under state license number 2970R, so you've got choices whether you need a little help or need more regular care with support for Alzheimer's or other memory concerns, and they've set up their apartments as studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms with spacious layouts from 425 up to 1225 square feet, tall ceilings, and even walk-in closets, so you can settle in comfortably without feeling closed in. Units have kitchenettes with modern appliances, Wi-Fi, internet, and cable or satellite TV, and if you want your own washer and dryer, those are available too, and you'll find private bathrooms and, in many cases, big windows or Juliette balconies for good light and some fresh air. The Coventry has a garden and walking paths, with plenty of outdoor sitting areas and patios, and if you've got a pet, they welcome them as long as it's not a big dog, so residents can bring companions and enjoy the landscaping or take a walk outdoors when the weather's nice.

Staff includes a part-time nurse, aides, and administrative workers who can help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, cooking, and laundry, and they've got someone on duty day and night, so residents aren't left without help, and they offer respite care for short stays or recovery periods. For health needs, you can use the on-site pharmacy, take part in wellness programs like Tai Chi or chair yoga, join fitness or stretching classes, or join walking groups, and they've got specialized diabetes and incontinence care if needed, as well as support for non-ambulatory or wheelchair-using residents. Meals are provided by chefs in a formal dining room, pub, or bistro, and they're ready for special diets like low fat, low or no salt, vegetarian, diabetic, and renal diets, with room service and guest meals for visitors, and for those who like to cook, units have appliances for basic meals.

The Coventry has both independent and assisted living areas plus memory care, with secured units and therapies for those with dementia, all managed by Continental Senior Living, and they run a volunteer program, book club, gardening club, art room, library, fitness room, and spa, so there are always activities like movie nights, music, story time, Nintendo Wii bowling, and cooking club, and they've got a full calendar of recreational, social, and educational events. Residents have access to haircuts in the beauty salon or barber area, chapel services, happy hours, and guest parking, so family and friends can visit easily, and there are common areas like a sky terrace, library, pub, arts and crafts room, and lounges with TVs and fireplaces for group gatherings or quiet time.

They take checks and credit cards for rent and care fees, charge a $5585 entry fee, and accept private funds, veterans benefits, or long-term care insurance for payment, and the facility offers continuing care retirement options, so someone can stay even if their care needs change over time without having to move. The Coventry has controlled entry for safety and offers transportation for shopping, appointments, or outings, making it easier to get around without a car, and the high-rise building sits in an urban neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, doctors' offices, and banks. Residents can use the laundry and linen services, weekly housekeeping, and enjoy spaces that combine rustic, vintage, and modern design, while private rooms and single-room apartments keep things personal and peaceful. The Coventry aims to help people keep their dignity and independence while offering a high level of daily support and plenty of chances to socialize and learn, and the clean, well-designed spaces and attentive staff help residents feel comfortable, safe, and connected.
