    Caring staff excellent amenities recommended

I moved my mom here and we're very pleased - caring, friendly staff who go above and beyond, excellent five-star dining, and a warm, family atmosphere. The campus is clean, well-maintained with a bright wellness center, heated pool, salon and on-site care that give real peace of mind. Comfortable apartments, lots of activities, and a convenient location make it a welcoming, first-class community I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Wesley Glen presents as a large, well-appointed senior living campus with extensive amenities and an active social environment. Positive aspects consistently noted include a welcoming, family-like atmosphere; a broad activities program; well-regarded dining services described as restaurant-style; and substantial wellness infrastructure (including an indoor heated pool and therapy pool). Physical accommodations—spacious apartments with kitchens and in-unit laundry, attractive grounds, salon and library facilities—are frequently cited as strengths that support independent and assisted living residents.

Clinical and caregiving experiences appear mixed. Many families and residents praise individual caregivers, rehabilitation teams, and on-site medical services for attentive, skilled care and rapid response in some circumstances. However, a substantial pattern of concerns centers on inconsistent staffing levels and variability in staff training and professionalism. These operational gaps manifest as delays in medication administration and in addressing personal-care needs, inconsistent bathing and toileting assistance, and variable responsiveness to call lights and requests for help.

There are recurrent clinical-process issues that prospective residents should consider. Several accounts point to delays or gaps in wound care, pain management, therapy quality, and discharge coordination; weekend pharmacy coverage and weekend medication access are also noted as a practical limitation. Communication lapses between families and management—along with instances of unreturned or slow responses from administration—contribute to dissatisfaction even where individual staff members are seen as caring.

Facility operations and maintenance are another mixed area. The property and common areas are frequently described as clean and attractive, with landscaped grounds and varied amenities; at the same time reviewers flagged sanitation and cleaning inconsistencies in some units, occasional maintenance problems (including elevator reliability), and wayfinding challenges within the large campus. Financial and administrative matters also drew comment: some families found billing, eligibility, and Medicaid processes complex or burdensome.

In summary, Wesley Glen offers strong amenity-based value and an active, community-oriented environment with capable rehabilitation and wellness resources. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against operational variability: staffing consistency, medication and clinical follow-up protocols, and management communication are areas where experiences diverge. A thorough, targeted tour—asking about staffing ratios, weekend clinical coverage, medication-administration procedures, and recent quality-improvement initiatives—will help determine whether the facility's current operational practices match a prospective resident's care needs and expectations.

    About Wesley Glen

Wesley Glen stands as a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so folks can move easily from independent living to assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing as they need more help, and with around 150 independent apartments, 14 or 16 patio homes, 74 assisted living apartments, and 21 studio apartments set up for Alzheimer's and memory care, there's a mix of choices for most needs; folks can pick a studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom with a den, or two-bedroom apartment in the main building, all designed with safety features like grab bars and motion sensors, plus large windows for natural light and cozy rooms that feel homey, and housekeeping and laundry services are available for an extra cost if needed.

The campus has walking trails along woodland ravines with benches, and there's a big aquatic and wellness center with a full gym, treadmills, bikes, and a four-lane lap pool plus a heated therapy pool with a lift for easy use, and some pools have underwater treadmills and resistance jets which help with physical therapy and exercise. Folks can get involved in aerobics classes, social events, and devotional activities all around campus, and there's a game room, activity spaces, and a chapel for worship, while the dining areas offer warm wood floors, comfortable chairs, plenty of sunlight, and nutritious meals made by chefs and meal planners, and there's room to host guests and space for visitors, too.

For health support, Wesley Glen's got a 24-hour emergency call system, round-the-clock nurses, a big therapy team, and a separate Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Center where residents recover after surgery or hospital stays; staff use therapy equipment like walkers and parallel bars, and specialized treatments are available-like ultrasounds, electrical stimulation, balance training with the Bertec Balance Check System, wound care, pain management, fall prevention, bladder and continence care, and counseling from a dietitian or general counselor, so there's a focus on staying healthy as folks age.

People living in Wesley Glen have access to a salon with wood accents and stone walls for haircuts, styling, and some pampering, and there's a library in partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library for borrowing books, along with common rooms, soft-lit hallways, and community spaces decorated for comfort. Transportation services are available both on and off campus-useful for doctor visits or icy winter days-with plenty of parking, and folks can have cats as companions, with some pet care included.

The community supports older adults of all faiths, offering spiritual care and ways to keep up traditions, and the staff-following the Willow Brook Way-work to be compassionate and supportive, helping with bathing, dressing, and reminders for daily needs, offering care for folks living with high medical needs, diabetes, or non-ambulatory requirements. Residents can move within the community as their health needs change, and respite care and adult day services are available, too. The community also includes personal physician services on campus, access to a health clinic, and a community portal so residents can keep up with news and events.

Wesley Glen is connected with Methodist ElderCare Services, has a tradition of retirement and elder care for families, and offers a homey environment-rooms look lived in and comfortable, with beds, dressers, and desks-while supporting independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, rehab, home care, and hospice, so families can plan for changing needs in one location.
