    Clean caring small assisted living

My mother is much happier and physically stronger since moving into this very clean, homey facility of about 14 residents - the owner and staff are empathetic, respectful, and consistently go above and beyond. Wheelchair-accessible with on-site PT/OT, piano sing-alongs, outings, and an open, family-like atmosphere that welcomes visitors; I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

This facility is described predominantly as a small, converted house that emphasizes a family-style, homelike environment. Many families praise the compassionate demeanor of caregivers, individualized attention, and a close-knit communal atmosphere. Residents and relatives frequently note music-based group activities such as piano sing-alongs, occasional local outings and concerts, yoga classes, and access to on-site physical and occupational therapy. The single-floor, wheelchair-accessible layout, screened porch and a large common living room are highlighted as comfortable, social spaces appropriate for residents who benefit from a smaller, less institutional setting.

Care quality assessments are mixed. Positive accounts describe staff who are gentle, respectful and willing to go beyond basic duties; some families report measurable improvements in mobility and mood. At the same time, multiple reviewers indicate limited clinical nursing presence and gaps in caregiver training for more complex personal-care needs. These operational shortcomings are linked to inconsistent supervision, staff turnover, and uneven attention to residents with higher dependency levels. A few families raised medication-management concerns; prospective families should clarify medication oversight and protocols during a visit.

Dining and food-service also show variability. The facility’s small kitchen and limited capacity appear to constrain fresh meal preparation for some residents, with several accounts describing reliance on processed or pre-prepared foods and difficulty accommodating low-salt or low-fat therapeutic diets. Other families appreciated individualized accommodations and staff willingness to address preferences. Those for whom specialized nutrition is a priority should request current menus, sample meal plans, and information on how dietary needs are accommodated.

Activity offerings reflect the advantages and limits of a small provider: regular music and social activities are meaningful strengths, but weekday programming and variety can be limited compared with larger communities. The small size facilitates personalized social interaction but may not support a broad recreational calendar.

Facility and management patterns include strengths in cleanliness of grounds and common areas, but there are also concerns about bathroom and bedding maintenance in some units. The home-like layout results in smaller private rooms and shared bathrooms for some residents; this can be unsuitable for persons with frequent toileting needs or those requiring more private facilities. Security was raised as a concern in at least one account citing a past robbery; families should ask about current security measures and incident-response procedures. Management appears owner-operated with a family-staff model; this contributes to a personal atmosphere but may also limit formal clinical oversight and administrative supervision.

Bottom line: this facility may be a good fit for people who prioritize a small, friendly, home-like environment and individualized social interaction, and whose care needs are moderate rather than highly medicalized. Prospective families should conduct an in-person visit and ask specific questions about licensed nursing coverage, staff training and turnover, medication-management protocols, meal preparation and therapeutic-diet capability, bathroom access for higher-dependency needs, sanitation practices, activity schedules, and security procedures before deciding.

    About Precious Care Assisted Living

Precious Care Assisted Living sits in Concord Township, Ohio, in a quiet home-like setting, and folks who live there get assisted living or memory care when they need it, with a place that's been under the same involved owner, R. Frank Coffelt, for over 15 years. The facility houses up to 16 adults, which keeps things small and a bit more personal. The home has private and semi-private rooms, all listed with clear prices, and the building's kept clean, warm, and welcoming, with no smoking allowed anywhere inside. People who live there find a bunch of helpful staff, always described as caring and respectful, and everyone says it feels more like a family, with the staff and residents often doing sing-alongs around the piano and sometimes heading out for small group outings.

Residents get help with daily life, such as dressing and bathing, laundry, and housekeeping, so they don't have to worry about chores, and folks who need more support because of memory loss, like Alzheimer's or dementia, have specific memory care help if needed, including tailored service plans and housing. For those with special care needs, like diabetes or incontinence, or when someone needs hospice, the team can help with that too, and there are nurses on staff, doctors on call, and therapists-like physical, occupational, speech, along with dentists and podiatrists-available as needed. Medical care's always close by, since there're over twenty doctors and six hospitals nearby, plus six pharmacies for medicine, so help's not far away. The place offers prepared meals-usually one or two a day, and transportation if somebody needs to go to appointments or just wants to head out for coffee or a meal, with restaurants and cafes close to the facility along with a couple of parks for peaceful walks.

There are daily activities, with a focus on recreation and wellness, whether it's organized games, sing-alongs, or social gatherings in the home's common areas, and folks get encouraged to visit the outdoors when the weather's pleasant. Family can come visit at any time thanks to an open-door policy, and pets can live there too, which some residents like, and there's a focus on keeping things affordable. People who move in have shown improvements in their strength, mood, and even gained some healthy weight, which shows the care has an effect. Safety's a big deal, with features added to support everyone's wellbeing. Residents must meet an age requirement and both men and women are accepted. The care plans aren't one-size-fits-all, since each person gets something that's arranged to fit what they really need, which can change as time goes on.

The home has earned recognition over the years, like a SeniorAdvisor.com award for high satisfaction, and it keeps a strong customer review rating around four stars, so people tend to speak well of their experience. There's a website where you can look at a photo gallery and read more about what's on offer, and it's easy enough to reach out to staff for questions. In short, Precious Care Assisted Living stands out for its small size, homelike feel, and focus on kindness, while offering needed services without being crowded or impersonal.
