    Excellent rehab, attentive staff, clean

I stayed at Lost Creek for rehab and was very pleased. The therapists were outstanding and nurses were knowledgeable and proactive about my meds, which helped me make considerable recovery. My private room was clean, homey, and customizable, housekeeping was thorough, and staff responded quickly and warmly. Management and leadership felt professional and caring, the activities and courtyard made it feel like country living, infection control was solid, and move-in/insurance was easy - I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

This facility elicits strongly mixed impressions. Many families and former residents praised the environment, therapy services, and daily activities: reviewers commonly noted a pleasant campus and interior, clean and spacious private rooms that can be personalized, familiar and friendly staff interactions, proactive housekeeping, and an active activities program (music, crafts, bingo, courtyard walks). The rehabilitation and therapy teams receive frequent commendation for knowledge, attentiveness, and measurable recovery outcomes; several accounts describe a positive and professionally managed rehab experience.

At the same time, a pattern of operational inconsistencies appears across reviews. The most common concerns relate to timeliness of care and staffing stability — particularly overnight — with accounts of delayed nurse response and long waits for medication. Medication-management and clinical oversight were specifically called out in multiple narratives, including instances where families felt physicians or clinical staff were insufficiently engaged; this has led some families to transfer residents to other facilities. There are also remarks about variable nursing procedural capability (for example, certain IV-related care) and uneven adherence to care plans.

Communication and administrative issues recur as well. Several reviewers described gaps in family communication and care-plan transparency, inconsistent documentation or resident placement, laundry and personal-property handling problems, and maintenance delays (broken fixtures, damaged items). Dining experience assessments vary: some families appreciated extra family trays and accommodating service, while others described an inhospitable dining demeanor or inconsistent meal quality. A few reviewers raised serious allegations that prompted external complaints to oversight entities.

Management impressions are mixed. Some reviewers acknowledged professional leadership, helpful move-in coordination, and effective handling of insurance paperwork. Others identified concerns about billing practices, staff honesty, and organizational oversight. Infection-control measures during the COVID era were noted positively by some families.

For prospective residents and families: strengths to verify on a visit include the quality of the therapy program, cleanliness of private rooms, the activities schedule, and the day-shift nursing responsiveness. Important areas to investigate in conversations with management are overnight staffing levels and response times, medication-administration policies and physician engagement, laundry and maintenance procedures, and billing/invoice protocols. Experiences appear to vary considerably by unit and shift, so an on-site tour and direct questions about those operational details are advisable.
