    Attentive, compassionate care for mother

I entrusted my mother to New Lexington and was very pleased - the staff were friendly, caring, and professional, always reachable and respectful of privacy. The facility is very clean and well-maintained, with excellent dementia and end-of-life care, compassionate nurses/aides, and engaging activities that kept residents involved. Management clearly supports the team; I would recommend them for attentive, trustworthy care.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback for Majestic Care of New Lexington is highly mixed, with a clear split between families who praise staff commitment and those who experienced serious operational shortfalls. Many families and short-stay patients highlighted compassionate caregiving, accessible management, active volunteer involvement, and a broad activity calendar. Other accounts point to recurring operational weaknesses that impacted clinical care, hygiene, and resident comfort.

Care quality is described inconsistently. Positive accounts emphasize attentive nursing and therapy services, successful short-term clinical stays with timely treatments and coordinated discharges, and compassionate end-of-life support. However, other observations raise concerns about medication administration practices, delays in responding to changing clinical needs, and uneven monitoring of residents with respiratory or mobility risk. These contrasting experiences suggest variability in clinical reliability depending on unit, shift, or individual staff assignment.

Staff and management receive predominantly favorable comments for empathy, communication, and willingness to address family concerns. Several reviews note that administrators are reachable and that staff provide emotional support and practical assistance such as bathing and individualized attention. At the same time, recurring operational issues—perceived understaffing, long response times, and isolated concerns about on-shift professionalism—indicate capacity and supervision challenges that can affect consistency of care.

Dining and activities are strengths in many accounts. The facility runs an active social program with community events, volunteers, and occasional donor-supported food initiatives. Residents and families frequently describe engaging programming and a social atmosphere. That said, there are remarks about inconsistent meal quality and dietary service continuity, suggesting variability in culinary execution or scheduling.

Facility condition and environment show a dichotomy: common areas are often described as clean and well-maintained, and several reviewers praise housekeeping and public-space upkeep. Conversely, other comments cite outdated resident rooms, crowding, limited private space, and maintenance needs that are not uniformly addressed. Some families also reported that marketing photos and the facility exterior can be more favorable than the actual resident rooms, which argues for in-person inspection.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families to evaluate include medication management protocols, staffing levels and shift consistency, fall-prevention and rounding practices, incontinence-care procedures, and dementia-specific programming. When touring, consider asking for recent staffing ratios, sample medication-administration policies and documentation practices, the facility’s approach to dementia care, examples of clinical incident response, and to see the specific room that would be offered rather than model photos. Overall, Majestic Care of New Lexington demonstrates clear strengths in staff compassion and programming, paired with operational variability that merits careful, detailed inquiry before placement.

About Majestic Care of New Lexington

Majestic Care of New Lexington sits in the Perry County area and operates with a skilled Care Team that's around 24/7, always helping residents whether they're staying for a long time, recovering from surgery, or needing therapy like physical, speech, or occupational treatments, and they really try to get to know each person so care fits what each resident needs, with a focus on warmth and understanding and you'll find the environment is meant to be supportive and secure, especially for folks with memory challenges like dementia or Alzheimer's, though some reviews mention concerns about that care. They also run specialized memory care neighborhoods which are set up to keep people safe and cared for if they have dementia, and bed rails are available for anyone at risk of falls. Residents can use several amenities that keep them active and involved, and you'll see they offer private rooms, furnishing, housekeeping, and help with daily living tasks for folks who live there long-term or short-term. So, whether it's short-term rehab after an illness, respite stays for up to 30 days so caregivers can rest, or even hospice care focused on comfort and support near the end of life, Majestic Care covers a big range of needs. Therapy services-like physical, occupational, and speech therapy-happen with licensed therapists, and they let people get therapy as an outpatient too, not needing to live there full-time. Safety runs through the facility with things like controlled entry and emergency response systems. There's also medical help for things like medication and different therapies, and some home health options work along with what's in the facility if needed. Majestic Care takes part in community work too, like making donations to local teams and letting student volunteers come in, and they're part of a bigger group of Majestic Care Communities that work across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana, which means the New Lexington site is connected to places like Carmel Assisted Living and Saint Anthony Assisted Living that offer related services depending on what someone needs.
