Brookdale Beaverton sits in a quiet neighborhood in Beaverton, Oregon, next to Water House Creek and close to Sunset Highway 26, so coming and going is pretty easy, and the place serves families from Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Cedar Mills West, and nearby areas, and you can always hear stories about how the nursing staff here all have over two years of experience and have been with Brookdale longer than that, so many staff are a consistent presence, plus the executive director has been there over four years, and there's even a housekeeper who's worked at Brookdale Beaverton for 19 years, which says a lot about the place; they offer assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, continuing care, and even help at home, and residents get personalized help with things like bathing and meals if they need it, and there's trained staff in the building 24 hours a day who can respond to emergencies, and there are general counseling services, too, just to help folks talk things through when they want to, because everything about this facility seems to pay attention to the details-right down to private rooms with big windows, armchairs, and tables, and common areas filled with comfortable places to sit like wicker chairs by fireplaces, big sturdy wooden dining tables under chandeliers, vintage lampposts, and plenty of sunlight from large windows, and if you step outside you'll find patio seating shaded by umbrellas, so residents can get some fresh air while they relax. For memory care, Brookdale Beaverton has facilities and programs built for adults living with Alzheimer's or different forms of dementia, and the staff use specialized care like the Clare Bridge program for middle to late stages, and the Solace program for more advanced needs, always trying to keep the same caregivers with each resident to make things familiar. Community activities, dining, and events are all planned with connections in mind, and there's an effort to encourage people to live well at every stage, even providing nutritious meals worked out by chefs and planners. There's a dedicated beauty salon for folks who want haircuts or just a little self-care time. Brookdale Beaverton's amenities include Wi-Fi, parking, and transportation, and the community's also pet-friendly, which is nice for people who don't want to leave their companions behind. For those who value their independence, there are options for living on your own with support if you need it, and the community's earned awards for activities, dining, and friendliness, which reflects the consistent, caring, and helpful staff. Tours are available for families to get a sense of daily life, meals, activities, and the general atmosphere, and you'll see that homes and shared spaces are all built to support safe, vibrant living, with a focus on wellness and clear attention to the needs of people at every stage of aging, including those facing memory loss. Brookdale Beaverton offers 60 memory care beds out of 60 total beds, and the community is a verified and currently licensed residential care facility, so families can know it meets the state's requirements.

Pleased overall but staffing issues
I placed my mom in the memory-care neighborhood and overall I'm pleased - the staff are compassionate, attentive, and engaging, management communicates well, and the facility feels clean, homey and well-run with good activities, meals and on-site services. My mom is social, participating in programs and seems well cared for. That said, staffing can be thin (long buzzer/door waits, limited night coverage), personal-care and room cleanliness have been inconsistent, and costs feel high. I'd recommend it but advise verifying staffing levels, personal-care practices and security/personal-item policies before committing.

About Brookdale Beaverton
About Brookdale
Brookdale Beaverton is managed by Brookdale.
Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (NYSE: BKD) is the largest senior living operator in the United States, managing over 640 communities with capacity for approximately 59,000 residents across 41 states and employing around 36,000 associates. Founded in 1978 and publicly traded since 2005, Brookdale solidified its market leadership through major acquisitions including American Retirement Corporation (2006) and Emeritus Senior Living (2014), making it the only national full-spectrum senior living company. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Brookdale has topped the American Seniors Housing Association's ASHA 50 list and Argentum's largest providers list for multiple consecutive years.
The company's comprehensive care continuum includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Brookdale's signature Clare Bridge program, developed over 30 years ago by dementia-care experts, provides specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care through two distinct levels: Clare Bridge communities for comprehensive memory support and the Clare Bridge Solace program for advanced-stage dementia residents. The program is recognized by the Alzheimer's Association® for incorporating evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and features secure environments, enclosed courtyards, Daily Path programming with six structured activities daily, and the InTouch technology platform offering personalized brain-stimulating games and therapeutic content.
Brookdale's holistic Optimum Life® wellness approach balances six dimensions—Purposeful, Physical, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, and Intellectual—implemented through signature programs including B-Fit (eight exercise class options), Brain Fit (mental fitness workouts), My Life Story (resident storytelling), EngagementPlus (interest-based connections), Growing Together (collaborative learning), and The Ageless Spirit (kindness and gratitude practices). The Embrace Family Partnership provides caregiver education and support for families of memory care residents.
The company's Brookdale HealthPlus® care coordination model, winner of the 2024 Argentum Best of the Best Award placing it among the top 1% of operators, is a technology-enabled healthcare service featuring dedicated RN Care Managers who proactively manage residents' health, coordinate care transitions, and help prevent avoidable hospitalizations. Communities using HealthPlus report 78% fewer urgent care visits, 36% fewer hospitalizations, and 63% more completed annual wellness visits. The Personal Solutions program delivers hygiene products, medications, and daily necessities directly to residents' doors with discreet packaging and monthly billing convenience.
Following a strategic divestiture of its home health and hospice operations to HCA Healthcare (completed December 2023), Brookdale now focuses exclusively on senior living operations while maintaining its position as the industry's largest operator, committed to its mission of enriching lives with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity.
