    Spotless compassionate care, highly recommended

I toured Redwood Terrace and was very impressed - spotless, well-maintained, homey spaces with a charming courtyard and wood trim. The staff and management were consistently kind, patient and responsive, helping with paperwork and benefits; care felt compassionate and reliable. Meals met medical needs, apartments are wheelchair-accessible with kitchenettes, and activities/shopping trips made visits enjoyable. Overall I'm very satisfied and would recommend Redwood Terrace.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Review content indicates a facility with strong interpersonal care and a small, home-like setting. Families and visitors consistently describe staff as compassionate, patient, and helpful; multiple comments highlight staff who assist with paperwork and benefits, mediate family dynamics, and provide responsive day-to-day care. Management is described as engaged and attentive, which contributes to a sense that residents and guests are valued.

Care quality and staffing: The facility is characterized by attentive caregiving and 24-hour staff availability. Staff are frequently described as going above and beyond, and reviewers emphasize patience and kindness. At the same time, there is a clear operational limit: the community does not provide multiple levels of care and lacks capacity for residents who require two-person transfers or other high-dependency supports. That limitation makes the facility well suited to residents who need assisted living-level services but not complex clinical or high-dependency nursing care.

Dining and activities: Dining is a consistent strength; meals are described as chef-prepared, palatable, and able to meet medical dietary needs. The dining room and courtyard are highlighted as pleasant spaces for meals and visits. The community offers regular activities and outings, including shopping trips and scenic rides, which reviewers note as enhancing quality of life and opportunities for engagement.

Facilities and living units: The property projects a small, well-kept, residential feel—wood-grain trim, a gazebo-style entrance, and an accessible courtyard are noted positively. Apartment-level features include wheelchair-accessible layouts and studio units with kitchenettes (refrigerator/freezer and microwave). However, reviewers also indicate trade-offs: some units are described as small, and there are references to aging or worn areas that may need updating. Cleaning and maintenance receive generally positive remarks, but at least one account indicates cleaning thoroughness varied in parts of the building.

Management and patterns: Management and front-line staff receive repeated praise for responsiveness, kindness, and assistance during the move-in process. The facility’s small scale appears to be both an asset and a constraint: it fosters a close, family-like atmosphere and individualized attention, but it also constrains the levels of medical care and physical-transfer capabilities offered. Cost is noted as relatively high in relation to unit size and the facility’s scope of care.

Who this fits and what to check: Redwood Terrace appears well suited for prospective residents who prioritize compassionate staff, home-like surroundings, chef-prepared meals, and regular social activities, and who do not require higher-dependency nursing care. Prospective families should confirm transfer and lift protocols, ask about scope of clinical services, evaluate apartment sizes against need, and perform an on-site walkthrough to assess condition and cleaning standards in person.

About Redwood Terrace Assisted Living Community

Redwood Terrace Assisted Living Community sits on the outskirts of Grants Pass in a quiet neighborhood, with a warm front entrance and a smaller-community feel that makes people feel at home right away, and you'll find 45 studio and one-bedroom apartments, each with private baths and kitchenettes, so nobody has to feel cramped or crowded. The people working there have a lot of experience, the director's been there for decades, and staff turnover stays low, so the caregivers really get to know the residents and treat them like family, which means folks living there get more personal attention, and those caregivers are known for being extremely attentive and going the extra mile when someone needs help, from grooming and medication management, all the way to more specialized help like incontinence and diabetic care, and even care for people who can't get around without help. There's memory care services for people with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, and they design these areas so there's less confusion and less chance of wandering, and on top of that, there's help for many chronic health needs, with a nurse looking over health reviews regularly.

Residents get three meals and snacks every day, and there's a mobile salad bar so folks can pick out sensible and nutritious foods right at their table, which can be a bright spot in the day, and if you like activities, there's things like music and dancing events to keep people engaged and happy. Pets can come too, and there's help if someone can't care for their animal on their own, making it easier to keep lifelong companions close. The building's all set up for people who need wheelchair or walker access, Wi-Fi and high-speed internet let residents stay connected, and you don't have to worry about chores because the staff handles all the housekeeping and laundry. Support for daily living comes in many ways, even personalized care plans that the community updates often as needs change, and respite and hospice care are also available, giving peace of mind to families and residents alike. Redwood Terrace focuses on comfort and quality of life, striving for high customer satisfaction and dignity for everyone, and they've earned several years of deficiency-free State surveys, which tells you they keep things safe and well run. The facility offers affordability in both assisted living and memory care, and because it's managed by Concepts in Community Living, Inc., there's a strong focus on active, supportive living, all while respecting people's choices and independence.
