About Terrace at Hillside Assisted Living

Terrace At Hillside Assisted Living sits on a 57-acre campus in McMinnville, Oregon, right in the heart of wine country, and you'll notice the natural beauty everywhere with meadows, gardens, walking paths, and wide views of the hills and vineyards, and even though it's part of a bigger continuing care retirement community, it feels quiet because it's tucked away in a residential neighborhood. The community has 68 residents and offers assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, and memory care all in one place, so folks can stay there even as their needs change, and that makes things a little easier for seniors and their families as time goes on, because moving again isn't necessary. There are single-story cottage homes and modern apartments with kitchenettes and private bathrooms, and every place has a 24-hour call system for safety, and the staff offers round-the-clock support with bathing, dressing, medication, and transfers as needed, but they encourage everyone to be as independent as possible. The facility provides extra help for people who have memory loss and need a secure area, with specialized staff, activities, and care plans, and there's also short-term respite and rehab help available for those recovering from illness or surgery, plus skilled nursing and wound care. Meals are served in a dining room with restaurant-style setups, and special diets like diabetes meals are available, and residents can also cook in their own kitchens if they want to. There are greenways, courtyards, gardens, a pool, game and fitness rooms, a wellness center, computer area, library, bistro, and even a Steinway grand piano for folks who like music, and you'll find different clubs, classes, and creative spaces for woodworking, quilting, arts, and crafts, and it's not unusual to see people volunteering or joining in on music groups, the Strummer's Music Group, or community committees. Housekeeping, linen service, transportation, and move-in help are all included, along with modern touches like Wi-Fi, cable TV, and private apartments or shared rooms, and the aim is to keep everyone comfortable and busy, whether they like quiet afternoons or a packed schedule of classes, outings, and events. The place is nonprofit, there are other board and care homes and memory care units nearby like Cindy Torio Adult Foster Home and Cherrywood Memory Care - Revere Court, and Terrace At Hillside Assisted Living really does try to offer something for most seniors, especially middle-income folks looking for a safe, engaging, and dignified environment as they get older.
