    Spotless, caring memory care home

I chose this lovely, spotless memory-care home because it was close to home and it met our expectations. The staff - especially Janelle and Margie - were warm, professional and attentive 24/7, the food felt homestyle, and the quiet, caring environment with a beautiful backyard made it a very good fit that I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers present a generally favorable view of the home's environment and core clinical care while also noting several operational shortcomings that may affect some families' experiences. Strengths most commonly cited include a clean, tidy physical environment, a warm and home-like atmosphere, and a small-apartment layout that many found comforting. The property features a pleasant outdoor area with trees, flowers and berries that reviewers appreciated.

Care and staff: Clinical and hands-on care receives largely positive commentary. Families highlighted competent nursing and the availability of 24/7 on-duty staff, with multiple mentions of specific caregivers who provided attentive, effective support (including successful post-surgical rehabilitation). The caregiving culture is frequently described as empathetic and professional. At the same time, reviewers described inconsistency in staff performance and responsiveness across shifts or individuals, and there are indications of staffing turnover and role changes that have disrupted continuity for some residents. These operational issues suggest variable day-to-day experience depending on staffing assignments.

Dining: Dining impressions are mixed. Several reviewers praised home-cooked meals and a generally pleasant dining environment, while others experienced variability in meal quality and service continuity, including occasions when food felt more like convenience or fast-food options. This points to an inconsistent meal program rather than a uniformly poor or uniformly excellent one.

Activities and social programming: A recurrent concern is a limited activity program. Reviewers described a quiet, mellow environment with few organized activities; some attributed reduced programming to COVID-related restrictions. Families seeking more robust engagement should verify the current activity schedule and any plans for expansion.

Facilities and accommodations: The house is described as spotless and well-maintained, with small apartments that many families found adequate for their needs. However, there are concerns about follow-through on promised modifications (for example, accessibility improvements) and occasional mismatches between the room shown during tours and the room ultimately assigned. Prospective residents should confirm specific room assignments and completion timelines for modifications prior to move-in.

Management and communication: Experiences with management are mixed. Reviewers noted accommodating practices such as allowing personal items and encouraging family visits, which supports a family-centered approach. Conversely, some families reported lapses in communication with ownership or management and perceived a lack of responsiveness in specific situations. Pricing was described as high by some reviewers, suggesting that families weigh cost against the scope and consistency of services provided.

Notable patterns and guidance: The overall pattern is of a small, well-kept, home-like facility that delivers competent clinical care and a compassionate caregiving culture, but with operational gaps that can affect day-to-day consistency—particularly in staffing reliability, activity offerings, meal consistency, management communication, and completion of promised facility work. Families considering this provider should tour in person, ask for current activity and staffing schedules, confirm specific room assignments and modification timelines, and discuss cost versus included services to ensure alignment with the prospective resident’s needs—especially if the resident requires specialized support for advanced dementia or a more active daily program.
