    Compassionate staff restored his mobility

I'm very satisfied with the compassionate, professional staff-nurses, CNAs and therapists who helped turn him around and get him walking again. The facility is clean and odor-free, doctors (Dr. Embrescia included) are accessible with prompt communication, meals are very good, and there are plenty of activities and strong resident bonds. I'm grateful for the care and would choose this facility again, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a facility with clear strengths in clinical rehabilitation and individualized caregiving alongside recurring operational weaknesses. Many families praised the nursing and therapy teams for compassionate, hands-on care and measurable functional improvements during rehabilitation stays. Physicians and the broader medical team are often described as accessible and communicative, and some reviewers singled out specific clinicians for exceptional responsiveness. Therapy staff were frequently credited with encouraging progress in mobility. Several reviews also complimented the activities program and noted proactive campus safety actions during inclement weather.

At the same time, a persistent staffing shortfall is a dominant theme. Reviewers describe frequent reliance on agency staff and periods when regular staff levels appeared insufficient to meet baseline needs. That pattern is associated with delays in basic assistance (including delayed toileting and bathing), inconsistent hygiene support, and slower response times to requests. Several accounts point to medication-administration and documentation weaknesses, including missed or delayed doses and instances where medication handling did not follow expected procedural clarity. Reviewers also described concerns about timeliness of infection detection and testing, and some noted skin-integrity and infection issues that families felt were not addressed promptly.

Dining and nutritional management are inconsistent across accounts. Some families reported good food and appropriate therapeutic meals, while others described failures to honor dietary restrictions, inappropriate meal textures for soft-food needs, and cold or delayed meal service. Housekeeping and facility condition also show a mixed picture: certain reviewers praised a clean, odor-free environment and competent housekeeping, while others cited sanitation concerns, visible staining and pest-control issues in some areas, and slow turnaround on laundry and room cleaning.

Communication and administrative performance are uneven. Many families appreciated prompt updates and clear communication from clinicians and administration; conversely, others experienced difficulty with billing communications, unresolved invoice questions, and unresponsiveness to email. A number of reports raised concerns about staff conduct and tone toward residents and families, indicating variability in interpersonal professionalism.

For prospective residents and family members, the facility appears capable of delivering strong rehabilitative outcomes and attentive clinical care when staffing is adequate. However, the recurring operational patternsโ€”particularly around staffing levels, medication controls, infection-response timeliness, and environmental servicesโ€”warrant close inquiry during a tour. Recommended questions include current nurse-to-resident ratios, use and oversight of agency staff, medication-administration and documentation policies, infection-control protocols, dietary-accommodation procedures, and housekeeping schedules. Speaking directly with therapy staff, nursing leadership, and families of current or recent residents may help clarify how consistently the facilityโ€™s positive practices are delivered.
