    Small community with excellent care

I'm very pleased with this small, one-floor community - clean, comfortable rooms with lovely views and well-kept grounds. Meals are excellent, activities plentiful, and the staff (Danielle and leadership) are caring, responsive, know residents by name, and have nursing support available around the clock. My father has thrived here and I feel confident in the care.

    Summary of reviews

Celebration Villa of Exeter is consistently described as a small, single-floor assisted living community with a residential, New England–style setting. Reviewers emphasize the benefits of the facility’s size and layout: staff often know residents by name, there are private areas for solitude alongside communal spaces such as a library, TV room and dining hall, and outdoor amenities include a porch, walking path and seating. The property has undergone visible updates—fresh paint, new carpeting and ongoing renovations—which many families find improved the environment and appearance.

Care quality and staffing are the most frequently praised aspects. Families repeatedly note attentive, personalized caregiving, responsive nursing and aides, and a sense that staff treat residents like family. The facility offers 24/7 nursing coverage and therapy/rehab services, and many accounts reference rapid maintenance response and effective admission/transition assistance. These strengths are paired with examples of strong family communication and staff who engage residents in one-on-one interactions, which appears to be facilitated by the community’s smaller census.

Dining and activities receive largely positive remarks. Numerous residents and families praise the meals for portion size and taste, with several describing dining as a highlight of the day. The activity program includes holiday events, live entertainment, game nights and fitness opportunities such as horseshoes and walking paths; these offerings contribute to resident engagement and family involvement. That said, some families described repetitive menus and occasional issues with meal temperature, so culinary consistency is an area to monitor.

Operational patterns and management present a mixed picture. Many reviewers compliment on-site leadership and caregiving staff, but there are recurring operational concerns: billing errors and unexplained charges or rate increases without clear advance notice; pharmacy and medication-delivery delays; and some variability in housekeeping standards (notably bathroom cleanliness) and weekend administrative coverage. A small number of reviews raise more serious procedural concerns, including an allegation of HIPAA/privacy breaches and isolated examples suggesting inconsistent clinical technique or training—issues that warrant direct inquiry during a tour or in conversations with leadership.

Staffing dynamics are generally favorable but not uniform. While day-to-day care teams and therapists are frequently commended, reviewers also noted occasional unfriendly night or weekend staff, and reports of short staffing at certain times. These patterns appear linked to shifts and scheduling rather than the overall culture of care, but they may affect expectations for consistency and response times.

Overall, Celebration Villa of Exeter presents as a well-kept, small-scale community with strong relational care, a comfortable setting, active programming and solid therapy supports. Prospective residents and families should weigh the advantages of close staff attention and a home-like environment against operational considerations such as cost transparency, administrative coverage on weekends, and verifying medication and privacy safeguards during decision-making and visits.
