    Compassionate staff, excellent rehab, amenities

I placed my loved one here and I'm very pleased - the staff are compassionate, friendly, and professional. Rehab (PT/OT and speech) was excellent and helped a rapid recovery, and medical attention is effective. The food is restaurant-quality and the dining room is lovely with a waterfall and fish; there's an on-site cafe and hairstylist. The animal attractions (goats, ducks, alpacas, koi, cats) and plentiful activities - bingo, memory games, outings, music, church, happy hour - really brighten days. Clean, secure, family-friendly environment; I'd highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Mountain View Care Center present a mixed but patternable picture. Many families and short-term rehab patients highlight warm, compassionate frontline caregiving and strong therapy services; physical, occupational and speech therapy are frequently praised for facilitating rapid recoveries. Frontline employees are often described as friendly, approachable and patient-focused, and the facility offers a range of hospitality features (on-site cafe, salon, attractive common areas) that contribute to a family-like atmosphere.

Dining and activities are notable strengths. Several reviewers describe restaurant-quality meals, an appealing dining room with decorative features, and a broad activity program that includes bingo, music, church services, memory-focused games and regular outings. The facility’s animal attractions and outdoor spaces (pond, goats, ducks, alpacas, koi) are repeatedly cited as unique mood- and stress-relief assets that families value.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns. Cleanliness and sanitation control are inconsistent across accounts: some families report well-maintained, clean units while others describe odor and housekeeping lapses in resident areas. Closely related are reports of delayed toileting and hygiene assistance and inconsistent bathing schedules, which point to capacity and workflow issues on certain shifts.

Staffing and management practices are a common theme. Reviewers describe chronic understaffing, long shifts, low morale and instances of staff distraction or inattentiveness. These workforce pressures are linked in several accounts to delayed responses, variable care consistency and errors in medication transcription or documentation. Infection-control practices are also cited as inconsistent in a few instances, which is a clinical risk area that merits attention.

Administrative and systems problems appear in multiple domains: family communication is sometimes described as slow or unresponsive, admissions and consent procedures (including property tracking) have gaps, and billing/insurance handling has generated serious complaints — including allegations of unclear or inappropriate charging and failures to honor prior authorizations. Building maintenance and housekeeping consistency also vary by area and shift, creating a contrast between well-kept public spaces and variable room-level upkeep.

Taken together, the pattern that emerges is one of a facility with substantial strengths in person-centered caregiving, therapy and amenity-rich programming, but with recurring operational weaknesses that affect reliability and family confidence. Prospective residents and families who prioritize strong rehab services, social programming and a welcoming environment will find many positives here; those for whom consistent sanitation, timely toileting assistance, transparent billing, and steady staffing are highest priorities should seek detailed, current assurances from leadership and consider in-person checks focused on those operational areas before making placement decisions.

    About Mountain View Care Center

Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center is a large, for-profit nursing facility located in a corporate setting, with a capacity to accommodate up to 180 residents. This facility provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care, and it participates in both Medicare and Medicaid programs, making it accessible to a broad range of individuals who require skilled nursing or extended care services. While it is not part of a continuing care retirement community, Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center offers comprehensive support for those recovering from hospital stays as well as individuals in need of ongoing daily assistance.

The center focuses on fostering an environment where residents who require medical supervision, rehabilitation therapies, and support with daily activities can receive consistent levels of care. Nursing staff provide an average of 3 hours and 41 minutes of care per resident each day, a measure that includes attention to both weekday and weekend staffing patterns, ensuring residents' needs are met with consistency. The staff supports residents with activities such as dressing, eating, using the bathroom, and other basic self-care tasks. A notably high percentage of residents, 92.8%, are able to maintain their ability to move, feed themselves, use the restroom, and manage common daily functions independently. Additionally, the facility places importance on preventive health measures, as demonstrated by the 95% flu vaccination rate among residents.

Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center offers rehabilitation services designed for those recovering from illnesses or injuries such as stroke, heart attack, infections, or accidental injuries. Residents in short-term rehabilitation have access to the therapies and support needed to facilitate their recovery with the aim of returning safely home; approximately 27.5% of those discharged were able to return home. The staff maintains vigilance for safety, working to minimize falls and major injuries, resulting in a relatively low incidence of such events. The percentage of residents who experienced falls resulting in major injury was 0.9%, while 7.6% of short-term rehab stays involved serious infections necessitating hospitalization. Emergency care remains readily available, with 11.3% of short-term residents requiring emergency room visits during their stay.

The facility is attentive to the health and wellness needs of its residents beyond just basic care. Services include regular face-to-face visits by residents and their physicians, pharmaceutical care overseen by a licensed pharmacist—including monthly drug regimen reviews—behavioral health support, and pain management where needed. Residents also have access to dental services and receive support in maintaining their optimal health and quality of life.

Maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment is a priority at Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center. Essential equipment is kept in working order, and call systems are available in resident bathrooms and bathing areas, ensuring that help can be summoned when needed. The management seeks to meet professional standards for food safety, procurement, and preparation, providing meals from approved sources. The facility also places emphasis on staff education, with ongoing efforts to ensure all team members understand dementia care as well as the importance of preventing and reporting any instances of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Quality assurance is a continual process at Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center. The establishment is committed to ongoing assessments and improvements in care quality, supported by regular health, fire, and safety inspections. The atmosphere is designed to be welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors, aiming to offer a space that is not only safe but also easy to navigate and comfortable. Through comprehensive care services, attentive medical oversight, and a focus on resident wellness, Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center strives to provide a supportive home for seniors and individuals needing rehabilitation.
