    Compassionate staff and welcoming facility

I'm very satisfied with the compassionate, professional staff and the clean, welcoming facility - residents seem happy and well cared for. Therapy, meals and outdoor spaces are excellent, admissions/clinical teams were helpful, and I'd recommend this as a comfortable, home-like option.

    Summary of reviews

Riverstreet Manor elicits strongly mixed impressions. Many families and residents describe highly positive interactions with individual caregivers, therapy teams, admissions staff, and maintenance personnel; physical and occupational therapy, activities programming, courtyard grounds, and certain administrative functions (for example billing and admissions) receive frequent praise. At the same time, a substantial set of operational concerns recurs across accounts, producing a polarized portrait of the facility where excellent experiences coexist with serious care and management gaps.

Care quality is uneven. Positive accounts highlight attentive personal care, effective rehabilitation sessions, and compassionate staff who provide meaningful support during transitions and end-of-life situations. Conversely, other accounts describe delays in clinical response, problems with medication administration and handoffs, inconsistent wound and post-operative care, and delays in access to on-call medical consultation. Several reviewers expressed concerns following a resident's death and noted issues with communication and the handling of postโ€‘mortem administrative matters; there are also specific allegations about improper financial or property handling that families should investigate further.

Staffing and staff conduct are central themes. Numerous reviewers praise specific employees and shifts for professionalism, warmth, and continuity; several caregivers and shift teams are singled out as models of good practice. However, others reported inconsistent responsiveness to call bells, long waits for assistance, uneven toileting and bathing routines, and variability in staff tone and professionalism. These mixed accounts suggest staffing levels and training/oversight may vary by shift or unit, with particular strain reported on weekends and evenings.

Dining and dietary management also show variation. Many reviewers compliment meal presentation, nutrition, and the dining environment. At the same time, there are recurring concerns about missed dietary accommodations, difficulties honoring allergy or denture-related requests, and interruptions to meal-service continuity. Families should confirm dietary protocols and allergy-safety procedures during a tour.

Facilities and sanitation present a similarly mixed picture: some areas and units are described as clean, organized, and pleasant, with a well-kept courtyard and attractive common spaces. Other comments raise sanitation and odor-control concerns in particular units, as well as pest-control and hygiene oversight gaps. Incontinence-care delays and slow room-turnover or bed-cleaning were mentioned in multiple accounts and should be a topic of inquiry for prospective residents.

Management and communication show both strengths and weaknesses. Admissions, reception, and some nurse leaders receive positive mentions for professionalism and helpfulness, and some families report smooth administrative interactions. Yet multiple reviewers described slow or inadequate responses to grievances, poor communication with families and outside clinicians, and inconsistent follow-through when issues are escalated. These patterns indicate that while frontline staff can be exemplary, systemic processes for escalation, family communication, and clinical oversight may be inconsistent.

Overall, Riverstreet Manor may be a good fit for families who find the praised therapy teams, activities, and particular caregiving staff to match their needs โ€” but prospective residents and families should be mindful of the variability. Recommended steps before placement include: observing multiple shifts (including evenings and weekends), reviewing recent inspection and complaint records, asking for written protocols on wound care, medication administration, infection control, dietary/allergy management, and property/funds handling, and requesting references from recent families whose needs align with your own. These steps can help assess whether the facilityโ€™s strengths align with an individual residentโ€™s care priorities and whether the documented operational weaknesses have been addressed.
