    Mixed experience, unsafe, poorly maintained

I had a mixed experience. Staff were present but often couldn't understand English or even know my relative, and the facility felt unsafe and poorly maintained - filth in common areas, residents wandering barefoot at night, missing window screens, window ACs instead of central air, mold/bugs, overgrown grounds, tiny parking, and I even overheard arguments; I also had concerns about care and billing oversight. Overall decent but I would recommend it only with reservations.

    Summary of reviews

Overview The aggregated reviewer summaries indicate multiple, recurring operational concerns at this assisted living facility. Primary themes include building- and grounds-related maintenance deficiencies, sanitation and environmental-control issues, safety risks related to inadequate supervision, communication challenges between staff and families, and concerns about the consistency of clinical care. There is also at least one serious claim involving financial misconduct that reviewers raised as a distinct concern.

Care quality Review content suggests gaps in clinical oversight and health monitoring. Statements about residents leaving the facility unattended, nighttime wandering, and general comments of "poor health care" indicate weaknesses in supervision, risk assessment, and implementation of safety protocols. These accounts point toward a need for stronger resident-monitoring practices, clearer elopement-prevention measures, and more consistent care-plan adherence. Families also described not feeling that staff knew the residents well, which suggests inconsistent staffing or inadequate handoff and documentation practices.

Staff and communication Several reviews emphasize language barriers and difficulty communicating with staff. Limited English proficiency among some employees is described as an obstacle to effective care coordination and family communication. Separately, reviewers raised concerns that staff did not demonstrate familiarity with individual residents, implying deficits in staff continuity, training, or information-sharing about resident needs. Together these issues can impede timely response, accurate care delivery, and constructive family engagement.

Dining and activities The provided summaries do not include substantive information about dining quality, menu variety, or activity programming. Absence of positive notes on nutrition and engagement suggests reviewers did not perceive these areas as notable strengths; however, the dataset lacks specific descriptions to assess meal-service reliability or the availability of social and recreational programming.

Facilities and environment Physical-plant concerns are prominent. Reviewers referenced an older building with missing window screens, reliance on window air-conditioning units rather than central climate control, overgrown landscaping, limited parking, and mold or moisture issues. They also described pest-control concerns and sanitation-related problems in resident and communal areas. These combined factors raise questions about the facility’s environmental safety, indoor air quality, and preventive-maintenance practices.

Management and governance The pattern of infrastructure and cleanliness problems, coupled with safety and supervision issues, suggests weaknesses in facility oversight and quality-assurance processes. Additionally, at least one reviewer raised an allegation of financial misconduct; that claim, distinct from operational complaints, signals a need for transparent financial policy and family-accessible records. Overall, reviewers portray management as not adequately addressing basic maintenance, staffing continuity, or family communication.

Notable patterns and considerations for families Consistent patterns across the summaries are: inadequate maintenance and environmental controls, sanitation and pest-control concerns, insufficient supervision leading to elopement risk, communication barriers with staff, and perceptions of inconsistent clinical care. Families considering this facility should seek detailed, up-to-date information about staffing levels and language capabilities, elopement-prevention and supervision protocols, infection-control and sanitation practices, mold remediation and pest-control plans, and financial safeguards. Prospective residents and families would also be advised to request documentation of corrective actions for the cited building and safety issues, and to observe daily routines, dining, and activity offerings in person.

    About Divine Manor Assisted Living

Divine Manor Assisted Living sits in Rock Hill, SC, surrounded by quiet greenery and peaceful views, and offers seniors a cozy, single-story community with 32 beds spread among roomy studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and semi-private rooms that give comfort and a bit of privacy, which can really matter when folks want their own space; the community keeps things homelike for those who like their independence but might need a hand now and then, so staff provide help with things like bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, and even moving to a wheelchair if needed, and there's around-the-clock support for emergencies, which brings some peace of mind. Meals come three times a day and are made with special diets in mind, like for residents with diabetes or allergies, and you'll find the dining room has all-day service with restaurant-style meals so you don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning up; you'll also get housekeeping, laundry, and even dry-cleaning, which is helpful when it comes to keeping things tidy without effort.

The place offers both on-site and off-site activities-from movie nights to walking on garden paths, arts and crafts, outings for shopping or appointments, and even devotional times for folks who enjoy that-and there are common spaces, an arts room, gardens, a salon, and pleasant spots to sit and chat with others or find a few quiet moments, all designed to make it easier to meet people and stay active if you want to. If you have a pet, you can bring them along, since Divine Manor Assisted Living is pet-friendly, knowing how animals can bring comfort and joy. The community's got special services for people living with Alzheimer's or other memory issues, known as memory care, with supervised activities and help tailored to their needs, plus a staff that understands what it means when someone's got mild cognitive impairment or needs extra support keeping to routines and taking medicine.

Caregivers help with all sorts of health needs, like checking insulin for diabetics, managing medications, and providing care for folks who can't get around easily or have incontinence; there are different levels of care-high, medium, and low-so the support fits what you need, and there's always a 24-hour call system if anything comes up. Transportation is part of the deal, so residents don't have to worry about missing a doctor's visit or running errands, and there's move-in help to make the transition as smooth as possible. Community fees, respite fees, and buy-in fees apply, and things are laid out to help folks keep their independence and dignity while still having someone to lean on, which makes a lot of difference as people get older and want comfort but also a bit of freedom.
