    Compassionate staff, clean and communicative

I'm very pleased with the attentive, compassionate CNAs, nurses and rehab team - they treated my grandmother like family, kept the facility clean and welcoming, and communicated well with updates and FaceTime visits. The staff are professional, friendly, and genuinely caring, making our stay comfortable and reassuring.

    Summary of reviews

Countryside Health and Rehabilitation presents as a facility with clear strengths in nursing care, rehabilitation, and an overall resident-focused culture. Many accounts highlight compassionate, attentive CNAs and nurses who create a family-like atmosphere; therapy services are frequently described as skilled and effective for short-term rehabilitative stays. The facility is often noted as clean and well maintained, with organized housekeeping, a pleasant entryway aroma, and active social programming. Dining receives favorable mentions for providing nutritious, regular meals. The availability of 24/7 monitoring and Medicare-covered short-term care is an operational strength for families seeking rehabilitation after an acute event.

Staff and workplace culture emerge as central to the facility’s identity. Reviewers commonly describe proactive, courteous interactions, supportive coworkers, and visible management efforts to improve the environment under newer ownership. Communication options such as FaceTime and window visits were used effectively during restricted periods, and families often report timely clinical updates and dignified treatment. The facility also appears to offer career development and a generally positive work environment, which supports continuity of care when staffing is stable.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns families should weigh. Several accounts describe inconsistent coverage during nights and after-hours, leading to delays in personal-care assistance and call-button responses. There are also reports suggesting variability in how therapy is delivered or sustained across stays, and isolated concerns about transfer and mobility-assistance practices that indicate opportunities to strengthen safe-handling protocols. Portions of the building are characterized as older, which can affect perceptions of comfort and accessibility despite diligent housekeeping.

Financial and administrative issues are another pattern to consider. A number of comments raise questions about billing clarity and charge levels, and there are isolated allegations related to property-handling and the involvement of authorities. These instances point to the need for clearer property-accountability processes and transparent financial communication. Additionally, some reviewers questioned the consistency and transparency of online ratings and facility communications, which may complicate external assessment.

In summary, Countryside tends to perform well in day-to-day caregiving, rehabilitation, and maintaining a welcoming, clean environment, particularly for short-term stays. Prospective residents and families should balance these strengths against reports of after-hours staffing variability, occasional lapses in responsiveness and mobility assistance, and administrative concerns around billing and property controls. Visiting the facility, meeting the nursing and therapy teams, and clarifying billing and property policies in writing are recommended steps for families evaluating placement here.
