    Compassionate, professional care; peace restored

I felt immediate relief after placing my mom here - the staff are professional, kind, and truly know residents by name. Therapy (OT/PT) was compassionate and effective after her hospital stay, admissions were knowledgeable and accommodating, and maintenance and housekeeping keep the beautiful, hotel-like building clean and welcoming. There are lively daily activities, good meals, regular nurse checks and family care conferences, so I have real peace of mind. Overall I'm very satisfied - excellent, resident-centered care with a little room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Country Village Care presents a mixed but informative profile. Many families and residents praise the facility’s recently remodeled interiors, modern private rooms with full bathrooms, accessible design, and on-site amenities such as a salon, barber shop, and podiatry. The dining spaces are spacious and reviewers frequently describe meals as high quality and well-rounded. The campus layout, including accessible outdoor areas and secure access, contributes to a calm, homelike atmosphere that several families described as providing peace of mind.

Staffing and direct-care interactions are a central strength for numerous reviewers: attentive, compassionate caregivers, a knowledgeable occupational/physical therapy team, and professional admissions and maintenance staff were commonly highlighted. Multiple accounts indicate regular medication administration, routine vital-sign checks, daily laundry, and frequent family care conferences. Memory-care programming and social activities are also noted as robust in many parts of the facility, with organized games, social spaces, and therapeutic activities that contribute to residents’ engagement.

However, there are recurring operational concerns that prospective residents and families should consider. Several reviewers described inconsistent staff conduct and communication tone, including instances where dignity-related care and responsiveness were questioned. Operationally, reviewers reported variability in clinical monitoring (for example, glucose checks and medication oversight), and some described significant clinical events such as hospital transfers following perceived gaps in monitoring or care. These accounts suggest variability in clinical practice and escalation processes across shifts or units.

Housekeeping and personal-care scheduling also appear inconsistent: while many note clean, well-maintained rooms, other accounts describe missed or delayed bathing and lapses in cleaning tasks. Therapy and rehabilitation experiences vary; some families praised effective rehab and measurable improvement, while others expressed frustration with therapy progress or discharge timing and questioned the adequacy of short-stay rehab planning. Reviewers also raised concerns about infection-control transparency during an outbreak period and about administrative issues such as billing processes and staff-pay matters, which can affect staff morale and continuity.

A pattern emerges of strong amenities and many caring staff members alongside variability in operational consistency—particularly around clinical monitoring, timely assistance with personal-care needs, and accountability. Some reviews indicate the facility prefers lower-acuity residents and may decline admissions for people with high care needs; families with higher-acuity requirements should confirm capability before placement. Given the mixed feedback, families should visit during different shifts, observe staff–resident interactions, review care-plan documentation, ask about monitoring protocols (blood glucose, vital signs, medication reconciliation), infection-control policies, staffing ratios, and how the facility handles clinical escalation and family communication.

In summary, Country Village Care offers many features that families value—modern facilities, engaging activities, and clearly committed staff members—while also exhibiting operational inconsistencies that can affect clinical reliability and responsiveness. Prospective residents and their advocates will benefit from targeted questions and direct observations to determine whether the facility’s day-to-day practice aligns with the individual’s care needs and expectations.

    About Country Village Care

Country Village Care sits in Angleton, Texas, and offers care for older adults who need different levels of help, like Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, and Long-Term Care, and the campus supports a licensed capacity for 38 residents. The place has a range of housing with single rooms, studio apartments, and two-bedroom apartments, and most rooms have a kitchenette and a telephone. There are common areas like outdoor patios, sculptured grounds with a "Peace Garden," and a deck shaded by a 500-year-old oak tree, and you'll find walking paths, a library, and a secure memory care building there. Staff help with bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication, and there's a 24-hour call system for safety and supervision, and the memory care area is set up for people with mild cognitive problems, offering specialized memory care training and a safe space. The nursing facility has both skilled nursing and licensed care, plus physical and occupational therapy visits, and there's an award-winning Express Rehabilitation and "Get Fit For Home" program that focuses on helping people become strong enough to return to their own homes, with about 90% success. Country Village Care does laundry, linen, housekeeping, and dry cleaning in-house, and provides on-site barber and hair cutting services, plus free transportation for appointments and errands. Residents take part in many scheduled activities each day, from movie nights and social gatherings to resident-run events and community-sponsored activities. There's a focus on letting people be independent if possible but staff can help when needed, and everyone who lives here needs to be able to leave the building on their own in case of emergency. The facility is licensed in Texas (License #: 146432), stays up to date on safety requirements, and has different neighborhoods on its campus for people who need more or less help, providing a comfortable, supportive, and safe place for older adults looking for care and community.
