    Loving staff, homelike safe care

I'm a family member of a resident and very pleased - the loving, attentive staff treat everyone like family in a clean, homelike setting with home-cooked meals, prompt medical responsiveness, an RN on site and a doctor available. Communication and owner involvement are excellent; I feel my loved one is safe, well cared for, and I highly recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Fleurdleys presents as a small, residential personal care home with a consistent emphasis on individualized, compassionate care. Reviewers highlight a strong caregiver culture: long-tenured staff, hands-on licensed ownership, and a registered nurse available around the clock. Families repeatedly describe attentive, family‑style interactions, prompt responses to clinical changes, and an environment that many characterize as homelike and calm rather than institutional.

Care and staffing: The facility's clinical strengths include 24/7 RN availability, owner involvement with a professional license, and caregiver training on medication administration. These structural elements appear to support reliable clinical oversight for many residents. Care relationships are a clear strength—families describe trusted, enduring caregiver–resident bonds and staff who go beyond routine expectations. Areas for prospective families to weigh include the limited scope of licensed clinical oversight beyond the owner (as described by some families) and occasional periods when caregivers are described as busy; reviewers suggest that workload variability can sometimes affect response times.

Dining and activities: Dining is commonly described as home-cooked and served family-style, which contributes to the facility's homelike feel. At the same time, a recurring operational note is limited menu variety, with some families wishing for more diverse entrée options. The home provides a structured daily routine and on-site activities that many residents enjoy; however, families seeking frequent off-site outings or a broader external social program should verify the availability of transportation and community excursions, as external engagement appears less emphasized.

Facilities and atmosphere: The property is generally portrayed as clean, well maintained, and set in a pleasant country environment. The small-house model contributes to a cozy, family-like ambiance that many find preferable to larger corporate settings. Some reviewers contrasted interior ambience with other homes (noting differences in light/brightness), and there are occasional references to crowding or full occupancy—indicating capacity constraints at times—so availability can be limited.

Management and cost: Ownership involvement, transparent admissions conversations, and good communication with families are recurring positives. The home is often recommended for its personal attention and streamlined family interactions. Cost is a meaningful consideration: several families describe Fleurdleys as higher-priced than some alternatives, even when they judge the care to be good value. Prospective residents should balance the personalized service and clinical supports against affordability and current availability.

Notable patterns and decision points: Fleurdleys appears well suited to ambulatory or lightly assisted residents who benefit from consistent caregiver relationships and a homelike setting. Prospective families should confirm clinical staffing details, ask specific questions about medication-management protocols and peak staffing patterns, review sample menus for dietary preferences, and verify waitlist or availability timelines. Overall, the pattern in reviews is one of strong interpersonal care and a residential feel, with operational trade-offs around availability, pricing, menu variety, and the scope of licensed clinical staffing beyond ownership.
