    Warm, respectful, attentive veteran care

I placed a loved one here and have been impressed by the warm, homey atmosphere and staff who genuinely love their work - CNAs, nurses, therapists and cooks all treat residents with dignity and respect. Care and rehab are excellent, leadership and management under new ownership are responsive, and family involvement plus veteran resources give me real peace of mind. It feels like a caring, attentive community I'd trust.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewers describe a facility with notable strengths in rehabilitation and hands-on caregiving alongside operational weaknesses that families should weigh. Clinical rehabilitation services — particularly physical and occupational therapy and both short-term and long-term rehab pathways — are consistently identified as strong points. The community also markets memory-care separation for male and female residents and is described as veteran-friendly with assistance for insurance and veteran resources, which may be attractive for those populations.

Staff interactions receive mixed but frequently positive commentary. Many accounts highlight attentive, compassionate nurses, CNAs, therapists, and activity staff who foster strong team–resident relationships and positive family involvement. Several reviewers singled out individual administrators and nursing leadership as responsive and proactive, and the facility is credited with active social programming, games, holiday meals, and events that contribute to a warm atmosphere for some residents.

Counterbalancing the positives are recurring operational concerns. Multiple reviewers described inconsistent staffing levels and delays in attending to residents, as well as variability in staff conduct and communication tone. There are cleanliness and sanitation concerns in certain areas and comments about odor issues and incontinence-care handling; these appear to be intermittent but notable. The building itself is described as older, with small, shared rooms and some wheelchair-accessibility limitations that may affect visitor comfort and resident privacy.

Dining impressions are mixed: while some praised meals and special luncheons, others found food quality inconsistent. Process issues such as entry-access delays following changes to the door/entry system, and unreliable phone-call handling, were mentioned and may affect family interactions and admissions logistics. Several reviewers also raised concerns about how clinical incidents are escalated and communicated to families, indicating opportunities to strengthen incident-response protocols and transparency. Feedback about social-work support and care coordination was uneven, suggesting variability in discharge planning and family liaison services.

Notably, perceptions vary considerably by reviewer: some describe the facility as a second home with a compassionate team, while others report serious care concerns. The facility appears to be in a period of transition with new ownership and management and new administrators who report active improvement plans; this suggests that experiences may differ depending on timing of stay and unit staffing. Prospective residents and families should arrange a tour, inquire specifically about staffing ratios, incident escalation procedures, sanitation audits, and room assignments (private vs. shared), and request up-to-date references from recent families to assess current performance under the recent leadership changes.
