    Compassionate skilled clean attentive care

I'm very satisfied with the care my mother received - nurses, CNAs, therapists and doctors were compassionate, skilled and communicative, and rehab helped her progress. The facility is clean and homely, meals were tasty, and administration was responsive to family. I'd recommend this center for attentive, respectful care.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a divided but detailed picture of Landmark of Plano. Many families and visitors praise the facility for compassionate bedside care, emphasizing attentive nurses, dedicated CNAs, and a strong therapy/rehabilitation team that supports recovery. Multiple comments highlight an overall clean, well‑maintained interior with a homelike atmosphere, organized activities (including Bingo and live musicians), active physician involvement, and frequent family updates. Administrative staff and certain managers received positive mention for approachability and responsiveness, and several reviewers noted specific staff members who provided trustworthy help with billing and records.

At the same time, a notable set of operational concerns recurs across reviews. Staffing levels appear inconsistent; reviewers frequently described long wait times for assistance and limited night coverage. These staffing gaps are linked to other clinical issues noted by families, including delays in responding to pain complaints, variable incontinence‑care practices, missed or delayed meals, and uneven medication documentation. While dining quality is described as appealing and tailored in many accounts, there are also specific complaints about meal reliability and occasional poor tray delivery.

Facility condition and maintenance showed mixed feedback. Although the building is generally described as clean and safety‑focused with ongoing repairs, reviewers also raised sanitation and odor concerns in particular areas and noted signs of an aging infrastructure that sometimes requires attention. Therapy services and administration were praised by some for helping residents improve, but other families reported interruptions in therapy continuity and slow recovery progress when services were limited.

More serious concerns appear in a smaller number of reviews: allegations of improper handling of resident funds and other conduct issues were raised, and a few accounts described unresolved complaints following adverse clinical events. These items stand apart from routine quality concerns and may warrant specific inquiry during any evaluation of the facility.

Overall, Landmark of Plano appears to offer substantive strengths in hands‑on caregiving, rehabilitation services, and family communication, with an environment that many find clean and welcoming. However, there is a pattern of variability in staffing, clinical responsiveness, sanitation in select areas, and administrative follow‑through that prospective residents and their families should evaluate directly. Recommended next steps for families considering this facility include asking about current staffing ratios (especially nights), protocols for pain management and feeding, procedures for incident reporting and complaint resolution, verification of medication administration practices, and an on‑site tour of resident rooms and common spaces to assess cleanliness and maintenance firsthand.
