    Excellent therapy and caring staff

I'm very pleased with my experience here. The staff-CNAs, nurses and therapists-are friendly, caring and responsive; therapy (Dave and London stood out) helped me make real progress. The building is bright, spotless and welcoming, meals are varied, and wound care/rehab were prompt and effective. The team communicates well and made admissions and family coordination easy; I highly recommend this resident-focused community.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of St. George Rehabilitation present a mixed but consistent portrait: the facility receives strong, repeated praise for its clinical therapy services and many front-line caregivers, while operational inconsistencies have created areas of concern for families. The therapy departmentโ€”physical, occupational and related therapiesโ€”was frequently described as skilled, effective, and instrumental in measurable functional gains. Wound care and some urgent clinical responses were also noted as prompt and effective. Many reviewers highlighted compassionate nursing and CNA care, a welcoming, home-like atmosphere, engaging activities, and a generally clean environment in resident rooms.

At the same time, recurring operational issues appear across reports. Staffing continuity is inconsistent, which manifests as variable caregiver availability, delayed responses to call lights (particularly overnight), and uneven personal-care scheduling, including bathing and incontinence-care delays. Several reviewers described problems with meal quality and the accommodation of dietary needs; others praised meals, indicating that food service may be inconsistent across shifts or units. Housekeeping and laundry management were also described as unevenโ€”some families praised cleanliness while others noted sanitation concerns and missing personal items.

Clinical and safety processes are another pattern area. Reviews describe medication-management weaknesses, including insulin-administration errors and other medication concerns, and gaps in monitoring for residents with respiratory needs. There are reports that discharge planning and continuity of care have failed to secure needed supports in the home setting on occasion. Safety practices related to transfers and fall prevention were questioned in a number of accounts. Communication from administration and nursing to families is described as both excellent in some cases and insufficient in others; the variability in family communication and administrative coordination is a recurring theme.

Management and transparency issues surfaced in several reviews as well. Some families praised responsive administrative staff and smooth admissions, while others cited organizational disorganization, incomplete paperwork at checkout, and concerns about how reviews are handled online. Weekend therapy availability and scheduling limitations were mentioned as a practical constraint for some patientsโ€™ rehabilitation timelines.

For prospective residents and families: St. George Rehabilitation appears to offer strong rehabilitative care and many dedicated, compassionate staff members, which can lead to meaningful clinical improvement. However, prospective families should be aware of operational variability across shifts and units. When evaluating the facility, consider asking specific questions about staffing ratios and continuity, night and weekend call response times, medication-safety protocols, respiratory-monitoring practices, meal plans and dietary accommodations, laundry/property procedures, and the facilityโ€™s discharge-planning process. Visiting in person, speaking with the therapy team, and requesting up-to-date care plans and medication-administration policies can help determine whether the facilityโ€™s strengths align with an individual residentโ€™s needs.

    About St. George Rehabilitation

St. George Rehabilitation in St. George, Utah, serves people who need skilled nursing care and rehabilitation, whether for the short or long term, and the place offers both private and semi-private studio rooms that are described as large and comfortable, with many residents saying the environment's very neat and clean, and family often comments on the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly, helpful staff. Folks getting care here can take part in a range of therapy services like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and it's handled right there in the building, with physical therapists who use manual therapy, exercises, and special equipment to help people get back their strength, whether they're recovering from things like surgery, orthopedic injuries, or neurological disorders, and they get treatment plans that fit their personal needs and goals.

You'll find a steady routine with activities like games, walks, outings to town, puzzles, sewing, and knitting, and there's always something to help residents stay entertained, plus the view-rich porch and landscaped grounds give people a nice spot to sit and relax when the weather's good. The dining options get a lot of praise, with food and catering services that many residents say they love, and menus are both nutritious and satisfying, so meals are often a bright spot in the day. Staff keep up with housekeeping and laundry, and the building's been remodeled recently so everything is modern and kept up. They offer memory care, nursing home services, and long-term healthcare for folks who need continuous support, including special care for wounds, diabetes, and comfort care services like hospice and palliative care.

Residents usually work with nurses and in-house physicians who provide round-the-clock care, and the therapy department can help with everything from basic recovery to more complex needs, including post-surgical rehab and stroke rehabilitation. When Medicaid coverage begins, the support remains steady, and the facility's known for being helpful with daily living, arranging meal service, activities, and even transportation when needed. St. George Rehabilitation has a good, honest reputation for being kind and supportive, and it's won various accolades and holds a three-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. There's plenty of modern amenities such as outdoor patios, well-appointed common areas, and engaging programs to make sure life doesn't get dull. Residents and families are involved in treatment planning alongside the staff, which helps care fit the needs of each person, and since the facility is owned by Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers and is part of the Ensign Services network, it keeps up with current standards in health care and therapy, always supporting recovery and well-being without much fuss or show.
