    Caring staff, welcoming improved environment

I've seen vast improvement over the past year under new ownership - the staff are sweet, dedicated, and genuinely caring, and management and the kind-hearted owner have made daily positive changes. Residents are well cared for, holidays are fun, and it's an amazing, welcoming place for all ages; I'm very pleased with the progress.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback indicates a facility currently in transition: many comments describe a difficult period under prior management with significant operational failures, followed by a more positive trajectory after ownership and management changes. Recent remarks emphasize active efforts to improve daily operations, remodel units, refresh menus, and create a more home-like environment. Several accounts praise staff members as kind, dedicated, and attentive, and families note more engaging activities and holiday programming that contribute to a friendlier atmosphere.

Care quality is described as mixed but improving. Earlier reports raised substantial concerns about responsiveness, staff conduct, and safety; there are even allegations of physical incidents and questions about adherence to health-department directives. At the same time, more recent observations indicate clearer attention to residents’ needs and an overall improvement in routine care. Prospective families should weigh both the historical concerns and the signs of ongoing improvement, and consider seeking up-to-date documentation of care processes and incident resolution.

Staffing and communication remain prominent operational issues. Reviews point to inconsistent staffing levels that can affect timeliness of assistance and perceived safety. While many staff are described as compassionate and hardworking, other comments express worries about conduct and tone. Family–facility communication has been characterized as weak at times; caregivers and decision-makers may want to confirm current communication protocols, staffing ratios, and training practices during a visit.

Dining and activities have been positive focal points in recent reports. Several families mention an improved menu and more appealing meal options, along with social programming that helps the community feel welcoming across age groups. Holiday events and other activities are cited as helping to create a homelike, engaged environment.

Facility condition is improving but uneven. Ongoing remodeling and visual upgrades are visible and have been credited with making the place feel more comfortable. However, reviewers also describe maintenance issues such as mechanical breakdowns and leaks, and variability in sanitation standards across areas. These suggest that some upgrades have been cosmetic and that underlying infrastructure and maintenance processes still need attention.

Management and administration present a clear before-and-after pattern. Earlier management practices were described as problematic, including administrative reliability and payroll trust issues; newer ownership is repeatedly described as caring and actively working to turn the facility around. This pattern indicates a facility attempting organizational change — progress is reported on multiple fronts, but residual operational weaknesses remain.

Overall, the facility shows signs of significant improvement under current ownership with stronger cleanliness, friendlier staff, better dining, and active remodeling. At the same time, persistent concerns about staffing consistency, staff conduct, communication, regulatory compliance, and maintenance suggest families should perform thorough, up-to-date due diligence (ask about staffing ratios, incident records, regulatory status, and maintenance plans) before making placement decisions.
