    Moved mom very pleased overall

I moved my mom into Westhaven Villa and have been very pleased - the staff are friendly, competent and genuinely caring, nursing was attentive and move-in was easy. The community is clean and well maintained, meals are excellent and beautifully presented, activities are engaging, communication is clear, and I'd happily recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers consistently highlight the high quality of interpersonal care, the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, appetizing meals, and an active, engaging activities program. Families report confidence and gratitude for the services provided, and many single-word impressions and anecdotes emphasize that residents are happy and well cared for.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is the staff. Reviewers describe caregivers as competent, caring, compassionate, highly professional, and genuinely friendly. Multiple comments note that staff are always available when needed, attentive to residents, and provide reliable follow-up and communication. Phrases such as "outstanding staff," "very attentive," and "helpful" recur. Several reviews call out that staff are pleasant to work with and go beyond basic requirements, creating a sense that the team builds trusting relationships with both residents and families. One family specifically noted that their mom "loves them," underlining family satisfaction with daily care.

Facilities and maintenance: The community itself is described as beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. Reviewers frequently mention a nice environment and the facility being kept in good condition. These observations contribute to an impression of a safe, comfortable, and welcoming residential setting. The repeated references to cleanliness and appearance support the perception of high standards for housekeeping and property management.

Dining: Dining is another consistently praised area. Comments describe meals as excellent, very good, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Several reviewers appreciated the variety in the menu and specifically said they "liked the menu" and the choices offered. Meal quality appears to be a strength that supports resident satisfaction.

Activities and social life: The activity program receives enthusiastic mention. Reviewers describe activities as "wonderful," "engaging and not boring," and cite a range of offerings — from bingo, painting, and banjo playing to gospel singing — as concrete examples. The activity director is singled out as "excellent," and the program is seen as contributing positively to resident engagement and daily life. This variety and energy in programming appears to be an important factor in residents' enjoyment.

Management, communication, and overall experience: Reviewers report good communication, informative interactions, and regular follow-up from staff and management. Several comments frame interactions as easy and pleasant, calling the team "great to work with." The community is described as having heart and being impressive in how they treat residents, which suggests a culture focused on resident-centered care. A few reviewers explicitly recommend the community and describe the placement experience positively.

Concerns and patterns to note: Negative comments are scarce in the provided summaries. The primary concern mentioned is limited availability: one reviewer expressed a desire that an opening had been available earlier, implying possible waitlist or limited bed availability. There are no substantive complaints about safety, care quality, meals, or activities in these summaries. The absence of negative themes outside of availability suggests high overall satisfaction, though the sample may reflect primarily favorable respondents.

Conclusion: Taken together, these reviews portray Westhaven Villa Assisted Living as a well-run, compassionate community with strong staff, excellent meals, a lively activities calendar, and clean facilities. Families and residents report clear satisfaction and gratitude, with staff availability and communication highlighted as key strengths. The only recurring operational issue in the summaries is constrained availability for placement; otherwise the facility receives consistent praise across multiple domains.

    About Westhaven Villa Assisted Living

Westhaven Villa Assisted Living sits over on Anderson Drive in Aberdeen, Washington, and the place is run by Caring Places Management, so it's got a lot of experience behind it, and they focus only on senior living and health care, which means folks get the help they need as they get older, whether it's basic support with everyday things like bathing, dressing, and medicine or more specialized care for memory problems like Alzheimer's and other dementia conditions. The building's set up with safety in mind; there's smoke detectors, fire sprinklers, security systems, and emergency call devices in every apartment and common area, and the apartments are simple to move around for folks with mobility issues, so walkers and wheelchairs fit just fine, and bathrooms come with each apartment too. You'll find that the place tries to stay comfortable, with private rooms, plenty of community areas with fireplaces and TVs, a TV lounge, a movie room, and a game room, and there's even a piano or organ and a beauty salon with a real beautician, which some seniors really look forward to every week. The dining room's bright with natural light, and everybody gets chef-made meals three times a day, with snacks always available and special diets handled by dieticians, so whether someone needs low salt or low sugar, they'll accommodate.

There are outdoor patios and gardens, indoor and outdoor activity spaces, a library, and a meeting room, so residents have options to spend their time both inside and out, and they go out on weekly bus trips for shopping too. Folks can expect a lot of activities, including exercise programs, musical guests, devotional services, TV and movies, games, and even a visiting chaplain, so staying busy isn't a problem, and there's a strong focus on keeping folks social and active, making it feel more homelike and less lonely. Housekeeping and laundry come once a week, and if anyone needs room service or special transportation around town, that's taken care of as well, and there's free Wi-Fi throughout, plus the apartments are wired for cable and phone. Staff, including licensed nurses, are around all the time, twenty-four hours, and they're known for being very attentive and kind, helping out wherever it's needed and making sure everyone's safe and comfortable, and you'll find care plans are tailored for each resident, especially for those in memory care, who get extra help and security to live as happily and safely as possible.

The community covers everything from independent living to assisted living, memory care, and even skilled nursing care, with respite and hospice services for those who need short stays or extra help; the whole place is certified for Medicaid occupancy too, so it's a realistic option for a lot of seniors in the Aberdeen area and around Greater Grays Harbor. With all the social areas, care, nutritious meals, and support, Westhaven Villa tries to make sure seniors can keep their independence where possible but always have someone close at hand if they need a bit of help, and there's an effort to keep things clean and pleasant so it feels like home.
