    Phenomenal staff, attentive dementia care

I'm very pleased with this facility - the staff are phenomenal and Flavis and our caregiver are outstanding. The atmosphere is warm, the dementia care attentive, and practical equipment like electric beds, a Hoyer lift and pedestal sink make daily care smooth. The food is really good and the owners are engaged; overall they're capable and meet residents' needs with reasonable, dependable care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility presents a mix of clearly positive care elements and operational staffing concerns. Ownership and on-site leadership are described as capable and engaged, and many families highlight strong, compassionate caregivers and a welcoming atmosphere. The program appears to provide effective dementia-specific support and generally meets residents' personal-care needs. Dining quality is cited positively.

Care and staff: Care delivery is anchored by committed caregivers and hands-on management; dementia care is functioning well and staff are often described as attentive. At the same time, there are consistent concerns about certain staff behaviors and clinical routine knowledge. Specific issues noted include limited patience or problematic conduct by some staff members and gaps in routine-care familiarity. These patterns have affected family confidence in a subset of cases and have led some families to consider alternative placement.

Dining and activities: Dining receives favorable comments for food quality. The overall atmosphere is described as welcoming. Activity and resident-mix observations suggest the environment may be better suited to older residents and those needing dementia care; younger residents or those seeking a different social mix may find alternatives more fitting.

Facilities and equipment: The facility is equipped with standard assistive devices such as electric beds and a Hoyer lift, and bathrooms have basic accessible fixtures. However, some living areas may lack comfort furnishings (for example, recliners), which can influence resident comfort and family satisfaction. Availability of preferred rooms or furniture may be limited.

Management and notable patterns: Management and ownership are strengths in terms of responsiveness and commitment to resident needs. Conversely, hiring decisions and the addition of ad hoc staff — including family-member hires — have contributed to staffing continuity issues and interpersonal tension. The net pattern is a facility with strong core caregiving and useful clinical equipment, tempered by operational weaknesses around staff selection, training consistency, and fit for certain resident preferences.

Practical considerations: Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's dementia-care strengths and positive dining/atmosphere against the potential for variable staff behavior and sporadic disruptions to staffing continuity. Recommended preparatory steps include meeting lead staff, asking about training and staffing-change policies, observing daily routines, and confirming availability of desired room furnishings and the resident mix.

About A and D Quality Care LLC

A and D Quality Care LLC sits in Everett, WA and runs as a small, licensed adult family home with room for six residents in a private, safe, and home-like setting, and folks have lived here since 2009. The house offers both indoor and outdoor common areas for relaxing, a sunroom to soak in some light, big rooms with private, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, and private and guest Wi-Fi with high-speed internet so people can stay connected, plus cable and satellite TV, even Spanish channels, and TVs with on-demand and smart remotes. The place takes care of both men and women, allows for pet visits, and welcomes people needing long-term care, respite stays, or hospice, and it's open to those with a range of needs, whether someone just wants help around the house or needs memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, because there's a secure memory care area with a Wander Guard system for residents who might wander and a fenced yard to keep folks safe. The community accepts people with behavioral issues, offers behavioral support, and can help with insulin injections and medication management, plus the staff can handle diabetic, incontinence, ambulatory, and high-acuity care, with a medical doctor, nurses, and other healthcare professionals like dentists, podiatrists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists all making visits or being available on call, and there's a nurse on staff with awake staff around day and night.

With a focus on daily comfort and peace of mind for families, the staff help with bathing, dressing, meals, and whatever daily living activities are needed, taking care of the laundry and housekeeping too, and making sure everyone's dietary needs get met by serving meals in the dining room, room service, or even anytime dining, and special diets like gluten-free, vegetarian, kosher, organic, low sodium, no sugar, or vegan are all considered, so residents can keep to their preferred ways of eating. Beauty and barber services come right to the home, and residents can get their nails, hair, and teeth looked after on-site, plus everyone can keep busy or find company with on-site and offsite activities, devotional and bible study sessions, puzzles, story time, therapy sessions, exercise and craft classes, spa days, live music, BBQs, birthday or holiday parties, music therapy, and access to newspapers and magazines for anyone who likes to keep up with news or has a quiet moment to read, and the home keeps a little library for anyone with an interest in books. The facility's designed to be accessible, with wheelchair and walker-friendly spaces, covered and uncovered parking, and easy access to public transit, and when folks need to get out, there's transportation for a fee or free for special outings.

The home stays smoke-free indoors and offers private baths, walk-in showers, and a generator for backup power, while caregivers help each person according to their needs, whether that's more light or heavy assistance with moving around, reminders, mechanical lifts, or social support. Visiting hours run from morning through the evening, with both male and female residents allowed, and the place supports aging in place, so residents don't have to leave if care needs change. Since the home doesn't accept Medicare unless certified, payment is discussed upfront, with prices published for each room. Guests can sit on the patio, take part in tea time, enjoy music, bingo, or movies, and pet visits make for happier days when folks miss their animals. Through many years, A and D Quality Care LLC keeps its approach personal, provides reliable care, and aims to ensure each resident feels at home.
