    Upscale downtown community with caveats

I toured and moved my parent here and really like the upscale, hotel-like building in downtown Kirkland - spacious, well-kept one-bedrooms with full kitchens, balconies, gym, salon, theatre and nice outdoor gardens. The staff are exceptional, caring and extremely helpful (Monica Le was a standout), and there are lots of activities, clubs and anytime/restaurant-style dining. Food is generally good but opinions vary, maintenance/ follow-up can be slow, and on-site nursing/memory care is limited. It's a beautiful, walkable community - just expect high costs.
