Happy Life AFH has three fully licensed adult family homes in the Seattle area, and folks living there get help with daily life from caregivers on-site around the clock, so there's always someone ready in case anyone needs help getting dressed, taking medicine, or moving from one place to another, and they have trained staff to support those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or high medical and mental health needs, even for residents who might have behaviors that need extra patience or who tend to wander, since the place uses bracelets and alarms to help keep everyone safe, especially in the purpose-built memory care section which sits in its own secure building, and there are also awake staff all night. The homes are newly remodeled and have easy access for walkers or wheelchairs, so the hallways and bathrooms fit everyone, and folks will find both private rooms and a room suitable for a couple, with personal items welcome so things feel homier, and there's a big backyard with a pond that stays peaceful and quiet, set in a neighborhood not far from I-5 and the bus lines if families or residents need easy transit. Meals come homemade three times a day, and the kitchen can do special diets for things like diabetes or high blood pressure, plus vegetarian options, and snacks available. Staff has nurses and a doctor on call, along with podiatrist, dentist, and beauty services like a hairdresser, so residents don't have to leave for care, and there's also hospice for folks who need it, plus physical, speech, and occupational therapies, and even diabetic care with insulin injections and blood sugar checks if anyone needs that help. They allow pets, let residents park their own cars if they still drive, and promise indoor spaces, outdoor sitting areas, enclosed courtyards, and wheelchair accessible showers or baths. Activities fill the days, with on-site programs, workout times, movies, music, outings, and spiritual or devotional services, and a full-time activity director who plans things so everyone can stay active and social, and field trips or outings happen, too, with transportation provided free for errands or appointment runs. The homes can take up to six seniors each, only serve women but will accept male residents in some rooms, and the memory care rooms cost about $3,200 per month, with services and staffing built around keeping residents as independent as possible, for as long as they need, with help always close by but privacy respected, no smoking indoors, and a calm, comfortable place to live.
