    Compassionate dementia care, family-centered support

I placed my mom at Northcare for advanced Alzheimer's and have been very pleased. The staff are caring, responsive, and hardworking; the facility is modern, clean, quiet and well set up for dementia care, with delicious home-cooked meals, meaningful activities, and compassionate end-of-life support - we felt safe and comfortable and they kept Mom and Dad together, so I would recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewers portray NorthCare as a facility with consistent strengths in person-centered, dementia-capable care. Families emphasize that staff are caring, responsive and accessible; reviewers describe staff behavior as kind, respectful and communicative, and note that the team advocates for residents and supports families during transitions and end-of-life care. Several comments highlight that the community was able to keep couples together and provided social engagement and conversational interaction for residents with cognitive impairment.

The physical environment is repeatedly described positively: the building is modern, clean, well‑lit and aesthetically pleasing, with large furnished rooms and comfortable common areas. Safety and comfort are frequent themes — reviewers state they felt secure and that the environment supported residents’ needs. Dining is viewed as a strength, with multiple mentions of home‑cooked meals prepared from fresh ingredients and special observances such as holiday and birthday celebrations that contribute to a homelike atmosphere.

Activity offerings appear to emphasize social engagement and meaningful interaction; reviewers reference activities, conversation opportunities, and community celebrations. Families also commend the accessibility of management and caregiving staff, noting that staff were easy to reach, accommodating, and kept them informed about their loved ones’ status.

Notable patterns to verify during a visit: while reviews strongly endorse the facility’s dementia care and the quality of interpersonal care, they provide limited detail about formal clinical services such as on‑site rehabilitation, therapy programs, or specific licensed nursing coverage and staffing ratios. Prospective families should clarify how medical care, therapy services, medication management, and overnight clinical coverage are handled, and ask for written descriptions of staffing levels and therapeutic programming if those services are important to the prospective resident.

Overall, reviewers recommend NorthCare for families seeking a compassionate, comfortable community with an emphasis on dementia care, social engagement, and family communication. For a full assessment, prospective residents should confirm clinical capacities and staffing arrangements to ensure alignment with any higher-acuity medical or rehabilitation needs.

    About NorthCare

NorthCare sits at 5921 Road 60 Drive in Pasco, Washington, and stands out because it calls itself NorthCare and uses that term for its services, and it offers a lot of choices for seniors needing different kinds of help, whether that's community-based supportive care, skilled nursing, or straightforward independent living options, so you'll find assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's or other dementia, and even retirement home care and nursing home support, all under one roof, and they go further with continuing care retirement community resources for folks who want a single place as needs change over time. NorthCare gives round-the-clock nursing support, a 24-hour call system for emergencies or quick needs, and has staff who help with bathing, dressing, eating, medication reminders, and day-to-day things people sometimes need help with as they age, and each resident gets a care plan that fits their needs, whether that's basic non-medical support or occasional medical things like first-aid for wounds handled by onsite nurses. NorthCare uses the Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® Approach, which means their programs and activities, both in groups and individually, are tailored to residents' interests and abilities, so folks always have something meaningful to do, and they say this helps keep everyone engaged and feeling part of a real home where well-being comes first. Residents can use a swimming pool, take part in activity programs designed for all levels, and enjoy amenities set up for comfort, including home-like rooms, easy access to daily care, and personal attention, given the smaller size of the community. The facility's caregivers get dementia-specific training and keep learning over time, so families dealing with Alzheimer's and memory loss know their loved ones will get up-to-date care, and NorthCare has memory care homes in other parts of Washington and in Montana too. For those who want to stay in their own place, NorthCare also offers home care like companion care, personal home help, 24-hour or respite care, dementia home services, and even more skilled nursing when someone needs it, and they supply equipment like medical alert systems, walk-in tubs, and stair lifts. Along with basic care, NorthCare helps with eldercare planning, financial services, senior care loans, life insurance, and Medicare Advantage plans (Part C), which some people use instead of regular Medicare for more flexibility. They want their places to feel comfortable and secure with help at hand for health or daily needs, and they create care plans that change as people's needs change, with long-term care available if needed, and meal preparation, hygiene help, and activities meant to keep both body and mind active, and it really seems NorthCare has made an effort to balance healthcare and homelike comfort for seniors in its Pasco, Washington community.
