    Supportive staff, clean safe community

I've called this place home for four years and I'm very pleased. The staff and administration are wonderful, hardworking, consistent, and genuinely supportive - they helped keep my seizures under control. The facility is clean, safe, comfortable, and the photos match reality; leadership and owners are engaged and there are real opportunities for growth. I'm grateful for the care and community here - my daughter (and Luke) love it, and it's among the best options in Spokane.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Bethany Place present a mixed picture, with a clear split between positive long-term experiences and several operational concerns. Many families and staff highlight committed direct-care workers, friendly day-to-day interactions, and areas of the building that are clean and well maintained. There are also accounts of residents who have had stable, beneficial stays over multiple years, and internal staff comments about professional development opportunities and competitive benefits.

Care quality appears inconsistent. Several family accounts describe adequate clinical control for chronic conditions in some long-term residents, while other accounts raise concerns about unreliable assistance with activities of daily living, particularly bathing and personal-care schedules. Reviewers also expressed worries about medication monitoring and management practices that can affect resident responsiveness and supervision; these issues suggest variability in clinical oversight rather than uniformly applied clinical protocols.

Staff behavior and workplace culture are described in contrasting terms. Multiple comments praise frontline staff as helpful and supportive, yet others describe problems with staff conduct, inconsistent enforcement of policies, frequent phone use during shifts, and favoritism that affects care continuity. Employee-facing comments indicate workplace morale challenges for some staff — including complaints about management treatment and compensation changes — alongside separate statements that leadership provides support and that some employees experience growth and loyalty.

Dining and sanitation concerns appear repeatedly. Several family members raised issues with food quality and kitchen practices, including inconsistent adherence to food-service hygiene protocols. These points were raised alongside broader cleanliness impressions that are sometimes positive; the pattern suggests variability in food-service operations rather than a uniformly poor or uniformly excellent program.

Facility safety, security, and amenities show mixed signals. Some reviewers describe the campus as comfortable and safe, while others reported thefts of personal property, unsecured items, and supervision gaps on the unit level. There were also mentions of local pedestrian safety near the facility and inconsistencies in amenity availability and maintenance (small but impactful items such as chargers or tools). These indicate potential weaknesses in property security, inventory control, and on-site oversight.

Management and administrative practices are a frequent source of concern. Several families raised issues about billing, deposit practices, delayed refunds, and difficult complaint-resolution experiences; one or more accounts reference escalation to outside advocates. At the same time, some reviewers praised administrative staff for community engagement and responsiveness. The most consistent theme is variability: administrative experiences appear highly dependent on the individual, timing, and issue type.

Overall, Bethany Place shows strengths in direct resident interaction, some aspects of facility upkeep, and positive outcomes for certain long-term residents. However, the facility also demonstrates recurring operational weaknesses in personal-care consistency, food-service hygiene, medication oversight, property-security, and administrative responsiveness. Prospective residents and families should schedule an in-person visit, ask for specific examples of bathing and medication protocols, request recent inspection or ombudsman communications, clarify financial safeguards and billing procedures, and observe meal service and staffing patterns during different shifts to assess fit and risk.
