    Friendly staff, clean facility, activities

I placed my parent here and have been very happy - the staff are consistently friendly and caring and go out of their way; the facility is clean, well-maintained, and offers good meals, physical therapy, regular activities (chair exercises, bingo, live music) and reliable transportation for outings. It's a welcoming, supportive environment that made our experience enjoyable.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Renaissance by Rennes - De Pere present a mix of positive operational strengths and several recurring operational concerns. On the positive side, families and residents frequently describe staff as friendly, caring, and helpful. The building’s common spaces are often characterized as clean and well maintained, and the community is described as quiet. Residents have access to small private apartments, some with accessibility features for mobility needs, and the community offers organized transportation, shopping outings, onsite therapy, and a variety of recreational activities (music, bingo, chair exercise, special events and live entertainment).

Care and staffing feedback is mixed. Many reviewers praised individual caregivers and the overall caring demeanor of staff, but others raised concerns about clinical staffing levels and supervision. There are descriptions of understaffing that limit the time staff have to spend with residents and instances where families perceived gaps in clinical oversight or therapy coordination. A limited number of serious incidents were described that prompted concern about staff conduct and the adequacy of clinical review; these accounts suggest the facility would benefit from clearer clinical oversight, documented therapy review processes, and robust behavior-management protocols.

Dining and activities are also areas of variation. Activity programming is a consistent strength — the community runs regular group exercise, music programs, games, outings, and special events that many residents enjoy. Meal experience appears inconsistent: some reviewers described good or adequate food, while others disliked the cafeteria-style service or found meal offerings not well suited to their parents. Dining room size and setup also vary between areas of the facility.

Physical plant observations are mixed. Common areas are generally seen as clean and well kept, but reviewers noted variability among individual apartments: some units show signs of aging (carpeting, appliances), while other parts of the facility or newer rooms are described as accessible and in good condition. The community’s waitlist and occupancy indicate notable demand, but that also means limited immediate availability for urgent placements.

Management and communication show a pattern of inconsistent responsiveness. Several families noted that service requests were not always fulfilled promptly and that staff responses to questions could be defensive or unhelpful. There are references that marketing or service descriptions did not always match the delivered services, so prospective residents and families are advised to confirm specific service levels in writing.

Overall, Renaissance by Rennes - De Pere may be a good fit for individuals seeking a socially active community with regular programming, onsite therapy options, and supportive caregivers. Families prioritizing continuous clinical oversight, predictable staffing levels, and consistently high responsiveness to service requests should seek detailed, documented assurances during touring and include questions about nursing coverage, incident reporting, therapy documentation practices, and staffing ratios in their evaluation.
