    Home-like spotless memory care facility

I moved my dad here and we've had five very good years. The home-like, spotless facility with a 450 sq ft unit, kitchenette and walk-in shower provides three meals, RN oversight, med dispensing, daily activities, van outings, weekly linens and laundry options. Staff are friendly, long-tenured and caring - he feels safe; I recommend the memory care wing and the facility overall. Cost is $3,100/month plus cable and phone.

    Summary of reviews

Ridgestone Village presents as a full-service assisted living community with a number of tangible amenities and unit features that many families find appealing. Units described include kitchenettes, private bathrooms with walk-in showers and roughly 450 square feet of living space. The community provides three daily meals with meal-check protocols, on-site laundry options, an on-site hairdresser, and scheduled van transportation for outings. Clinically, the presence of an on-site RN and medication-ordering/dispensing services are notable features, and there is a separate wing intended for higher levels of care.

Care quality impressions are mixed. Several accounts highlight long-tenured, caring staff and extended positive experiences—families and residents described feeling welcomed, safe, and well cared for. These positive descriptions align with the facility’s full-service model and staff practices such as regular check-ins with residents and collaboration with family on care needs. Conversely, other accounts raise operational concerns about staffing consistency, staff conduct and responsiveness, and practices around mobility safety. These concerns suggest variability in day-to-day care delivery and indicate that fall-prevention protocols and staffing coverage can be important topics to review during a tour.

Staff and management dynamics show both strengths and weaknesses. Positive comments emphasize a warm, home-like atmosphere and staff who are friendly and helpful. At the same time, reviewers noted rude behavior in some interactions, high staff turnover, and perceptions of insufficient staffing levels. Management-related issues also include questions about pricing stability; several families mentioned frequent rent increases, which affects cost predictability for longer stays.

Dining and activities are a mixed area. The facility provides three meals per day and runs daily activities and outings that many residents enjoy. The meal presentation and activity programming were praised in a number of accounts. However, others observed a decline in food quality over time and fewer structured activities on weekends, indicating potential variability in menu consistency and weekend programming breadth.

The physical environment is generally described as clean, well-kept, and updated, contributing to the homey atmosphere many residents appreciate. At the same time, the building layout is described as rambling or confusing, which can challenge wayfinding—particularly for residents with memory impairment. Some comments also referenced visible vacant rooms in hallways, which may reflect occupancy-management or room-assignment practices.

Overall, Ridgestone Village appears to offer a solid set of amenities and has produced long, positive experiences for many residents. Simultaneously, there are operational patterns families should evaluate closely. Recommended topics to address during a visit include current staffing levels and turnover, specific fall-prevention and mobility protocols, weekend activity schedules, recent changes in dining menus, occupancy status and room assignment practices, and the history and policy around rate increases. These targeted questions will help determine whether the facility’s strengths align with an individual resident’s care and lifestyle needs.

    About Ridgestone Village

Ridgestone Village sits at 1025 South 2nd Street in Delavan, Wisconsin, and offers several types of senior care, including assisted living, memory care, nursing and personal care, and continuing care, so older adults can find the support they need as life changes. The community provides a supportive place for those living with dementia, with services meant to help with memory loss and daily activities, offering both RCAC and CBRF levels for assisted living so residents can stay as their needs grow. Staff speak English, offer 24-hour supervision, and keep an eye on residents' health, medication, and personal care-helping with bathing, dressing, transfers, medication, and taking care of those who need help with walking or have mild cognitive impairment. Residents can use call systems anytime for emergency help, and the buildings are wheelchair accessible, even the showers. Rooms come with telephones and simple furnishings to help residents feel at home, and the common areas include indoor and outdoor spaces, a dining room for all-day meals, a garden, walking paths, and an arts room, so people have ways to spend their day.

Meals use ingredients picked by meal planners and chefs, and there are choices for people with allergies or diabetes. There's transportation for appointments or outings, plus resident parking if someone drives. Families can use move-in help and find laundry and dry cleaning services onsite, which helps take chores off residents' hands. Ridgestone Village lets residents bring pets and allows both men and women unless a specific area serves only women. The place tries to keep a homelike and family feel, focusing on independence and privacy, and the staff make custom care plans for each resident. Onsite services include podiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nurses on staff, plus a doctor and dentist are available. Residents who need hospice, respite, or short-term stays can get these options when needed.

Activities fill the day, with community-sponsored programs, arts, special events, and movie nights both on and offsite, and there are regular devotional services and spiritual options. For grooming, there's a barber and a salon in the building. Ridgestone Village also covers help with incontinence, diabetic care, and non-ambulatory services, and handles referrals and health monitoring if extra care is needed. The staff focuses on offering kind-hearted, secure living and giving each guest respect and attention, and the goal is to help residents build memories and keep their independence while feeling cared for, so seniors and families have support through changes big and small, even though sometimes information about the place can be hard to find.
