    Caring staff, excellent communication, satisfied

I'm very pleased with this quaint eight-bed home - clean, home-like dining room and caring, friendly staff (special thanks to Catherine). Communication about my mom's care was excellent and the move-in support and guidance on options/questions was very helpful. Nice variety of activities and pretty good meals with a few choices. I'm very satisfied and would happily recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

Rosewood Manor presents as a very small, residential-style facility (approximately eight beds) that many families describe as clean, quaint, and home-like. Several reviewers praised the personal, friendly demeanor of staff and identified specific staff assistanceโ€”such as practical move-in support and guidance on questions and optionsโ€”as a strength. The dining room and common areas are frequently characterized as domestic rather than institutional, which some families view as a positive for comfort and social atmosphere.

Care quality assessments are mixed. Positive comments emphasize respectful, communicative staff and individualized attention when staffing allows. However, a recurring operational concern is low or inconsistent staffing levels; reviewers indicate that when staffing is minimal there is limited one-on-one time for residents and caregivers appear rushed. These constraints are described as affecting responsiveness and the pace of routine care, and have led some families to seek alternative placements.

Dining receives polarized feedback. Some families find meals acceptable with a reasonable range of choices and appreciate the home-style dining setting. Others describe the food as generic, note small portion sizes, and view meal quality as inconsistent relative to cost. The combination of perceived limited culinary variety and portion concerns contributes to questions about value for the price charged.

Activity programming shows variability. A number of reviewers mention a nice variety of activities and meaningful social opportunities. At the same time, the facilityโ€™s limited staffing and small scale appear to restrict the depth or frequency of individualized engagement, producing occasional comments about insufficient one-on-one activity time.

Facility- and management-level observations reflect trade-offs typical of very small residential homes: an intimate environment and close staffโ€“family communication versus operational limits in staffing, programming capacity, and privacy amenities. The presence of shared bathroom facilities for the cottageโ€™s full complement of residents was noted and may be a privacy or convenience consideration for prospective residents. Management is credited with helpful communication and move-in assistance, but addressing staffing patterns, meal consistency, and program capacity would likely improve overall family satisfaction.

In sum, Rosewood Manor may suit families prioritizing a small, home-like setting and personable staff. Prospective residents and families should weigh those advantages against evidence of constrained staffing, variable meal quality, and limited private bathroom access when assessing fit and value. Visiting during different times of day to observe staffing levels, meal service, and activity programming may help clarify whether the facilityโ€™s current operating patterns align with an individualโ€™s needs and expectations.

    About Rosewood Manor

Rosewood Manor sits on Borg Road in Delavan, WI, taking care of adults and seniors in a small, single-story building with eight licensed beds in a state-licensed Community Based Residential Facility, and while the place stays cozy and keeps the group small, the staff there helps with a wide range of needs, from folks who manage just fine on their own to folks who need full care. Residents can pick from private or semi-private rooms, studios, suites, or small apartments, all with central air, bedside nurse call systems, and the option to hook up cable and phone, and the rooms even include things like the Sunset Suite if someone's interested in choosing. The staff offers 24/7 supervision and support-helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, medication, and transfers, especially for those who have trouble moving or walking, and the facility uses a secure system with alarms and wander alerts to keep residents safe, especially those with memory loss or who tend to wander.

Onsite care includes regular visits from a range of medical professionals like primary care doctors, podiatrists, dentists, optometrists, audiologists, and mental health experts, so people don't have to leave for many appointments, and the staff has experience helping individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, and advanced age as well as people who have physical disabilities. Daily activities include brain fitness, music therapy, yoga, stretching classes, pet therapy, gardening in the raised flower and vegetable beds in the shady secured courtyard, and opportunities to socialize, such as live performances, trips and outings, or plain old birthday and holiday gatherings. Residents can take part in art classes, lectures, church or other spiritual groups, and community events with help from the staff and escorted transportation, and there's a special focus on memory support, reminiscence, and intergenerational activities.

People eat home-cooked meals and nutritious snacks throughout the day, and the kitchen can manage special diets like gluten-free, vegan, kosher, organic, and low-sugar or low-salt, and room service is available. The community allows cats and dogs and offers pet care, and people can spend time outdoors in the gardens or the gazebo in the courtyard. Housekeeping and laundry get done every day, so residents can focus on their own routines. Therapy services such as physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy are available onsite, as well as rehabilitative nursing for people needing post-surgery care, respite, or palliative and hospice support.

Rosewood Manor is designed for long-term living with multiple levels of care, so folks can stay even as needs change, whether they're independent, need help with basic routines, require advanced memory care in secured areas, or have medical or behavioral challenges. The environment is home-like and calm, with a small group of residents, and the staff pays attention to each person's needs and choices, tries to create a sense of belonging, and encourages residents to keep their independence and dignity for as long as possible.
