    Excellent leadership, compassionate care, homelike

I'm very pleased with the care my family member receives here. Leadership is excellent-Maribel and the team are hands-on, dedicated, compassionate, and knowledgeable; they keep us updated, provide timely care, and often go above and beyond (they even do resident grilling and other activities). The facility is small, cozy, clean and well-organized, feels homelike, and I'm grateful for the caring staff who make sure residents are well taken care of.

    Summary of reviews

Care and staff: Reviews present a mixed but clear pattern: many families praised frontline caregivers as compassionate and knowledgeable, and several specifically thanked individual staff members for attentive support. Positive comments emphasize timely responses to care needs and a sense that residents are well looked after. At the same time, other accounts point to gaps in how the facility communicates and follows through, suggesting unevenness in daily responsiveness and in the time staff can spend with each resident.

Dining and activities: There is limited specific information about dining quality in the summaries provided; however, recreational programming appears present and community-oriented — an example cited is an outdoor grilling activity. The small size of the facility supports intimate, home-style activities that can encourage social interaction, though constrained staffing hours may limit the breadth or frequency of programming for some residents.

Facilities: The physical environment is described as clean, organized and homelike. Reviewers noted the facility is small and well maintained, which many families found comforting. Conversely, room dimensions were described as limited, indicating constrained private space for some residents; prospective residents should plan a visit to assess whether room size meets personal needs.

Management and operations: Leadership impressions are polarized. Several reviewers commended hands-on, involved managers and praised leadership that supports staff; others described management shortcomings, poor communication, and a general negative impression. High staff turnover was raised as a recurring operational concern, which can affect continuity of care and family confidence. Taken together, the pattern suggests that while leadership and staff can deliver strong, personalized care, operational inconsistencies—particularly in communication, staffing stability, and management practices—may produce variable experiences across residents and families.

Notable patterns and guidance: The strongest positives are interpersonal — compassionate caregivers, personalized attention, and a homelike, well-kept setting. The most significant operational concerns are communication gaps, workforce instability, and limited time available for direct care. Prospective residents and families should weigh the value of a small, intimate facility against potential limitations in staff continuity and room size, and should ask specific questions about staffing ratios, communication protocols, and typical activity schedules during a tour.

    About Care Partners Assisted Living

Care Partners Assisted Living sits at 1858 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and has 15 beds, giving the place a small, home-like feel where people know each other, and the staff can really pay attention to individual needs, whether someone needs help with bathing, dressing, taking medicine, or just wants someone close by at all times, and families always seem welcome to be a part of care planning. Residents can pick between private or shared suites, so folks have choices that best fit what they're looking for, and rooms come with furniture and telephones, and there are emergency alert systems in place for safety. The place has a nice mix of indoor and outdoor areas including a common dining room, walking paths, a garden, and a fenced courtyard so residents can spend time outside or enjoy movie nights or card games inside, and they're allowed to have pets, which can make things feel a little more like home, while smoking isn't allowed indoors so the air stays clean for everyone. Staff offer help around the clock, supervised by nurses, and there's also a doctor, dentist, and podiatrist available when needed, plus physical, occupational, and speech therapy options to help folks keep moving and stay active. The community focuses on supporting each person's independence-encouraging decisions in daily life, whether it's with meal choices, activities, or taking part in things like gardening or outings-and the staff get ongoing training so their skills stay up to date, especially when caring for those with memory loss like dementia, with secure settings for memory care. Meals are provided every day and can be tailored to special diets such as diabetic or allergy-sensitive needs, and there's all-day dining if a resident wants to eat outside regular meal times. The place has a cozy feel, almost like a large family instead of an institution, and it's set up so both women and men can live there. The facility is licensed under state license number 9054 and, being part of the larger Care Partners & Country Terrace network across Wisconsin, keeps the same policies of kindness, dignity, and treating everybody with respect, whether staying long-term, just for a short break through respite care, or with hospice options as life changes. Parking is available, the showers are wheel-chair accessible, and common spaces make social life relaxed since there are regular community activities organized both on and off site, plus devotional services for residents who want them, all together creating a setting that feels secure, warm, and respectful of every person's need for independence and belonging.
