    Clean friendly facility with views

I live here and appreciate the very friendly, patient and helpful staff - management communicates well and CNAs are proactive (they even tracked down my glasses). The facility is bright, clean and homey with beautiful Rib Mountain views, pretty grounds, a golf course across the street and close to the hospital. Apartments (including memory-care "tiny" units) have private baths, kitchenettes and safety features; there's a great library, piano, beauty shop, dining room, recreation center and outdoor decks. Food is good, the community is strong though activities have been limited since COVID, and the remote location and occasional staff turnover are minor drawbacks - overall I'd recommend it for care, cleanliness and the welcoming atmosphere.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across reviews for Wellington Place of Rib Mountain is distinctly positive, with repeated praise for the facility’s memory care model, cleanliness, supportive staff, and homelike atmosphere. Multiple reviewers highlight that memory care units resemble small apartments — private bathrooms, a bed area separated by a half wall, and kitchenette features such as a sink, microwave, and refrigerator — which many found above average for dementia care. Safety and medical reliability also appear consistently strong: reviewers mention a call-buzzer system, medications being given on time, helpful CNAs, and proactive staff who communicate updates and even locate lost items such as glasses.

Staff and management receive substantial commendation. Reviewers repeatedly describe staff as kind, accommodating, patient, personable, and communicative. The director and management are noted as informative and proactive, and several comments point to excellent communication between family and staff. The facility’s culture is frequently described as warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of community and many social opportunities. That said, staff turnover is mentioned by multiple reviewers as a concern — an important caveat when evaluating consistency of care.

Amenities and physical environment are strong selling points. The campus is large and bright, with attractive common areas such as a recreation center, outdoor decks, a library, and a piano in the entryway. There is an on-site beauty shop, a pleasant dining room, and apartments that are roomy enough for personal furniture. Many reviewers appreciate the country setting and scenic Rib Mountain views, as well as the facility’s proximity to a hospital and a golf course. Cleanliness is emphasized repeatedly — descriptions include very clean, neat, and welcoming spaces.

Dining and activities receive mixed but mostly favorable remarks. Food is described more than once as good, though not exceptional; the ability to suggest meals is seen as a positive flexibility. Activity programming is highlighted by several reviewers as robust, with lots of opportunities to socialize, which supports the sense of community. However, a few reviewers experienced or perceived limited activities, and COVID lockdowns were specifically noted as having negatively impacted activities and social engagement for a period. This indicates some variability in programming intensity and the potential for external events to reduce offerings.

A few practical concerns are consistently raised. The remote, country location is appealing to many for the scenery and quiet, but some reviewers warned it may feel isolated or depressing for residents who expect a busier, more urban lifestyle. Dated carpeting and some older décor elements were called out by a few reviewers, suggesting that while the facility is clean and well-maintained, there may be areas that could benefit from updates. Finally, while many describe the price as reasonable, families should weigh the noted staff turnover and potential activity limitations when assessing long-term fit.

In summary, Wellington Place of Rib Mountain is portrayed as a clean, homey, and well-staffed facility with particularly strong memory-care‑style accommodations and reliable daily care. Its amenities, scenic setting, and personable staff create a warm community feeling that many residents and families appreciate. Prospective residents who prioritize memory care, safety, cleanliness, and a quieter country setting are likely to find it a good match. Families who are concerned about staffing continuity, want very active lifestyle programming, or prefer a more urban location should ask specific questions during a visit about current activity schedules, recent staff turnover, and any planned facility updates to ensure it meets their expectations.

About Wellington Place Of Rib Mountain

Wellington Place Of Rib Mountain sits at the base of Rib Mountain and is a smaller, state-licensed senior living facility with just 28 beds, which helps everyone feel a bit more at home and less crowded, and the suites, whether for one person or for two, include private bathrooms and kitchenettes with fridges and microwaves, so folks can make small meals or snacks when they want and keep their own things nearby, and some of these apartments offer large windows for natural light and outdoor views, which means there's plenty of sunshine streaming in if that's what someone likes, and the staff includes 24-hour caregivers and registered nurses who help with bathing, dressing, medication, and other daily tasks, always keeping an eye on safety with secure doors, alarms, a sprinkler system for fire safety, and supervision to help make sure people living with memory issues like dementia or Alzheimer's are safe and cared for.

The facility includes a dining room with a fireplace and lots of natural light, which makes meals feel welcoming, and three fresh-cooked meals are served each day, with snacks on hand and special plans for diets like those for diabetes or hypertension, and the kitchen staff pays attention to allergies if needed, and if someone doesn't want to eat in the dining area, private dining options are available for family visits and special occasions. Housekeeping, laundry, and move-in help are part of the routine, so keeping things clean and organized is less of a worry, and folks can get advice and planning support as needed, which is helpful when making decisions about care.

Wellington Place offers memory care and assisted living services and can support people with physical or mild cognitive impairments, with plans designed just for each resident, so everyone gets what they need. Residents can join in regular activities, so the schedule might include things like movie nights, bingo, crafts, music and pet therapy, outings for shopping or appointments, exercise classes, or spiritual services, and on-site features like a library, reading room, fireplace lounge, beauty and barber shop, whirlpool bath for relaxation, and outdoor patios and decks help make life interesting, especially with garden and walking areas that are easy for everyone to get around in, including wheelchair users. There's help with medical coordination, transportation for doctors, shopping, and outside events, and residents can keep in touch with family and friends using phone and internet in every suite.

The facility allows some pets, so animal companions are welcome for those who want some extra company, and residents can park on-site if they still drive, but transportation is also provided for those who don't. Both private and shared apartments are offered, and the atmosphere aims to feel homelike, with celebrations, holiday events, family picnics, and other community gatherings, so no one feels left out. Everything from medication management to incontinence care is handled by staff, and skilled nursing and respite care are available for short or longer stays, which means Wellington Place Of Rib Mountain can help with changing needs as time passes, and overall, the goal is to give each person comfort, stability, and a good place to call home.
