    Spacious modern apartment, caring staff

I toured several places and chose this one - I'm very happy with it. The staff are kind, responsive and professional, and they made the move smooth. My apartment is spacious, clean and modern (full kitchen, walk-in shower), meals are good, and there's a lively activities calendar and real sense of community. On-site medical care and strong safety features give me peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Library Square Senior Living is consistently described as a small, well-maintained community with a family-like atmosphere and visible clinical supports. Residents and families frequently highlight the compassionate and accessible staff, on-site nursing and physician presence (including mental-health support), and tangible safety features such as walk-in showers, pull cords, and morning staff check-ins. The facility's central location, underground parking, and nearby hospitals and shops are commonly noted as practical advantages.

Care quality and staffing: Overall feedback emphasizes respectful, proactive caregivers and a smooth transition process for incoming residents. The availability of on-site clinical services and the ability to add assisted-care services in place are seen as strengths for residents with evolving needs. At the same time, reviewers flagged staffing variability as an operational risk; families are advised to confirm current staffing levels and continuity plans, particularly for assisted-care services. Maintenance response was generally timely but a few accounts indicate occasional delays in addressing work orders.

Dining and activities: Dining receives high marks for food quality, table service, and social meal times. Menu variety, daily hot meals, and enthusiastic praise for the chef are recurring themes. A few comments describe inconsistent food temperature or plating, and some apartment plans include a limited number of included meals per month, which can lead to additional out-of-pocket costs. The activity program is a clear strength — the schedule includes exercise classes, outings (bus trips, games, zoo, baseball), entertainment, and regular social events that contribute to resident engagement and morale.

Facilities and apartment features: Apartments are described as bright, roomy, and modern after recent remodels, with full kitchens, dishwashers, and sizable living/bedroom areas. Amenities such as an on-site store, beauty shop, library, therapy services, and pet policy (cats allowed) add convenience. There is active remodeling of common areas in places, which some reviewers view positively as updates and others note as temporary disruption. A few facility-level issues were raised: dining-room areas and some common spaces could use refreshment, there are isolated odor concerns in the basement/elevator area, and the facility permits smoking in resident rooms — items families should evaluate for personal preference and health considerations.

Management and notable patterns: Tours and communications are generally described as thorough and helpful, with long-tenured management and responsive follow-up during move-ins. Two operational limitations stand out: there is no dedicated memory-care unit, and there can be limited availability for assisted-living units (waiting lists were mentioned). Pricing and assisted-living availability were not always clearly disclosed to families, so prospective residents should request written fee schedules and current waitlist information.

Overall impression: Library Square is well suited to older adults seeking a smaller, active community with robust programming, on-site clinical oversight, and apartment-style living. The consistent praise for staff, activities, and dining suggests strong day-to-day resident experience. Prospective residents and families should verify current staffing stability, clarify meal-plan inclusions and costs, confirm unit availability, and assess tolerance for ongoing renovations and the facility's smoking policy before committing.
